Couillard Stripped, Ran Bordello?

Here's The Babelfish Translation:

A former adviser in immigration made disconcerting revelations on the past of Julie Couillard, affirming that the former boyfriend of Maxime Bernier would have been tenancière of brothel.

Marie-Claude Montpetit explained in interview with the 98.5FM that Julie Couillard would have held two houses of vice in Montreal, one on the street St-Denis and the other on the street Bishop. The young girls who worked there were the immigrant ones coldly arrived.

Mrs. Montpetit also affirmed that Julie Couillard had been naked dancer in an establishment of the downtown area, and that it is not by chance that it met Maxime Bernier.

Here is the original French.

Tenancière translates as "Madam".

Frankly, I may have to revise my opinion of the Liberals as the sexxxiest political party.

Also, does this mean there's pictures out there... somewhere? Its going to be hard to do any work today. Finally, I am not impressed by the capabilities of Babelfish. For example, the correct spelling is "nekkid". As in: "She's Nekkid! Nekkid! Hee hee hee!"

Update: Welcome NN readers. Turns out the "immigration consultant" that made the above claims has credibility issues of his own.

Her Cheques Bounce Too

Julie Couillard bags another Tory.

The tangled web involving former foreign affairs minister Maxime Bernier's ex-girlfriend has ensnared another federal cabinet member.

Public Works Minister Michael Fortier dismissed senior Quebec adviser Bernard Côté yesterday after it emerged Côté had a romantic relationship with Julie Couillard last year.

Given the dates involved, it sounds as if there might have been some overlap between L'affaire Bernier and L'affaire Cote.

In any case, is Public Works Minister Michael Fortier the next domino to fall?

Last April, La Presse reported, Couillard attended a fundraising cocktail party in Châteauguay-Saint-Constant, a riding on Montreal's south shore, making a $1,000 contribution to the party.

Le Devoir reported yesterday that Fortier was at the party.

The event's organizer told the paper that Couillard handed him a Kevlar business card at the cocktail party, but that he remembered her mostly because the $1,000 cheque bounced.

She stiffed the CPoC for $1,000 and nobody cared!

New Tory Scandal Involves No Cleavage

Therefore it is not nearly as fun to write about as this scandal, which involves maximum cleavage. Nevertheless:

MONTREAL–RCMP officers recently visited Foreign Affairs Minister Maxime Bernier to discuss photos of him shaking hands with a globe-trotting Montreal businessman who was later arrested in a police sweep targeting Mohawk organized crime groups

According to the website of Global Village,Mr. Michael Chamas' company, he has also met recently with Quebec Tory candidate for Papineau Mustaque Sarker. His legal problems include weapons and tax charges.

(Note:picture from Cleavage-Gate, which is clearly the better of the two scandals)

Masturbagate Scandal Still Has Juice!

As I suspected, London NDP MP Irene Mathyssen's apology to Conservative MP James Moore will eventually arrive laced with fake outrage:

"I would say we all learned some lessons," she said of the brouhaha she sparked when she complained to Speaker Peter Milliken on Wednesday about seeing the image on the laptop of Moore, who sits in front of her in the Commons.

The two lessons, Mathyssen said, were: "I should have spoken to him (Moore); and he, that his personal photos do not belong on the floor of the House of Commons. I regret I didn't speak to him first because his behaviour was inappropriate."

A point I actually agree with, for no other reason than if you ever did what Moore did in the corporate world, you would soon find yourself in the HR office, getting gently corrected. Yes its sad that people are anal these days, but they are anal these days and, as far as I can tell, nobody's planning to make it illegal. It isn't really a left/right thing either. Accidentally show an exposed cyber-tit to the evangelical office girl down the hall (the one who has pamphlets on her desk) and see what happens. The problem is, of course, that she's so damned hot in those tight sweaters that your mind is fairly overwhelmed with images of spanking her in the columbarium, and nailing her stand-up style against the chancel railing...

But I digress.

The point is, I suppose, where would you rather have people like Irene Mathyssen? Out on the street, or in Parliament where they can't do too much damage.

Get A Room, James Moore

OTTAWA -- Conservative MP James Moore is the subject of a complaint that he's been checking out "scantily clad'' women on his laptop computer in Parliament.

[New Democrat MP] Irene Mathyssen claimed during question period Wednesday that she saw Moore viewing pictures of "scantily clad" women on his laptop in the parliamentary chamber.

Maybe Irene Mathyssen reacted too soon. Another five minutes and she might have caught him tugging it under the Conservative benches.

James Moore, Public Wanker???
Update: Inconsiderate fratboy or puritanical feminazi? It is increasingly beginning to look like the latter as NDP MP Mathyssen prepares to apologize for her "spontaneous" outrage upon seeing what turned out to be pictures of Mr. Moore's girlfriend. That said, Mr. Moore, the House is for working, the Senate is for sleeping, and you look at personal pictures in your office.

Tory MP Links Clean Air To Increased Wife Beating

From CanWest:

OTTAWA -- Opposition MPs and environmentalists are baffled and outraged by warnings from a Conservatives MP that aggressive action to fight climate change and air pollution could lead to an increase in domestic violence and suicides.

The remarks were made Thursday by Tory member of Parliament Jeff Watson at a parliamentary committee studying the minority government's proposed "clean air" legislation.

"With short-term transition toward medium- and long-term targets, there's potential for a lot of dislocation, which is a term for some very painful costs along the way: job loss, anxiety, depression, bankruptcy, domestic violence, costs to employment insurance or retraining, loss of charitable dollars in communities for people who used to have high paying jobs but don't anymore and the social services that are funded by those, and in rare instances, suicide," said Watson, the MP for the Windsor, Ont. riding of Essex .

This is the same Jeff Watson whose ex-campaign manager was recently acquitted of uttering death threats against him in the midst of a fairly tawdry sex scandal. I am not sure how these two events are linked, but they're a good way of bringing the terms "Tory fear-mongering" and "Tory sex scandal" into the same post.

In any case, Martin is being challenged by several other Tories for the nomination in Windsor/Essex, and apparently his challengers (Jeff Lappan, Craig Ball) are fairly hopeless cases. It is therefore incumbent upon all good Liberals to point out that Jeff Martin is not the sharpest knife in the drawer either, and encourage their Conservative brethren out in Windsor to take a flyer on a second string wing-nut when nomination time rolls around.
