Does this sort of thing.. and maybe event he so-called "Black Bloc" transcend partisan sniping?

In other words.

Conservatives aren't impressed, obviously.

But - even if I'm an ardent NDP or Liberal supporter, is there a moment when we sort of stand together and say, "Regardless of our differences, this is bullshit, and will not happen in my backyard?"

I always respected Pierre Trudeau for his firm and inyielding approach to the FLQ crisis.. as much as I disliked his politics in many respects.

Yep. We’ve had many such moments recently—like when Canadians across the country were disgusted by the Afghan detainee custodial policy their government was following.
