Media Paid for Harper's Afghanistan Trip

Gas, on-board catering, handling and other miscellaneous expenses, like magazines and newspapers, brought the tab for Stephen Harper's Afghanistan photo-op to $191,534. But don't worry, the tax-payer was spared, for each of the "journalists" on-board paid $10,700 for the privilege of making our PM look leader-like in front of, apparently, an almost empty Kandahar Base.

A bit like paying somebody to rob you.
