TO Smoking Ban Kicks In

...And the first couple of days have gone pretty smoothly. Of course the weather has cooperated for the most part, being patio friendly.

Local bar owners may complain, but for every smoker they lose they'll probably get back one person like me. There were a couple of places I used to frequent, but stopped when they put in a smoking room. So many smokers would cram the place that the smell leaked out and took over the whole establishment. You could look in through the windows they had installed and watch these shadowy figures moving around within billowing clouds of gray smoke. A bit like the Beerquarium from The Simpsons.

  1. It'll go just fine. The restaurants will lose some people at first, but withing a few months, the non-smokers [like me] who were avoiding going to random restaurants and bars, will adjust their habits, and start going out more. Also the smokers will become trained and go to where they can smoke, or hold their urge until it's safe for others' lungs for them to light up.
The only problem they'll face in bars with running tabs is the drink and dash, as it looks like the person is going out for a smoke.
