Tory Environmental Plan will Regulate Emissions...Someday

Forget Dalton McGuinty's half- justified whining to the effect that regulating auto-emissions stiffs Ontario and lets Alberta off the hook. The new Tory plan does nothing but offer "consultations" with auto industry CEOs for another four years before imposing some kind of restrictions. From The Globe:

...[the] targets won't be set right away. Instead, the CEOs will be consulted again on the details, and there was no indication last night that Ottawa was planning to bring in the much tougher reduction targets already set by California and other U.S. states.

So a minority government, that might not last another six months, promises to do nothing for another four years but get a bunch of suits in a room every couple of months with the Minister of the Environment and feed them little sandwiches and shrimp puffs.

I am not impressed.

  1. Note carefully: CPcC policy does not include anything living... their talking points are clean air, water, land (just some far off futures regs mind you) but importantly, there is no concept of eco-system (hence no global environment), no wildlife management, no biology whatsoever in their thinking. They barely know about, let alone believe in, modern environmental science.
