From CBC, the PM's strained relationship with the National media took a turn towards the Realm of Nothingness this week:
Stephen Harper is inviting members of the parliamentary press gallery to a yuletide reception at his official residence on Monday, Dec. 19. One problem: there is no Monday, Dec. 19 this year.
The invitation also claimed that round squares and unicorn meat would be on the menu.
Officials in Harper's office said the erroneous date on the invitation was unintentional, and that the reception was in actually scheduled for "when Hell freezes over".
Typical "harper hates media" fear-mongering. With the absence of anything remotely ressembling policy, I'm glad you liberal wonks have something to keep you busy.
ReplyDeleteRemember the announcement on Senate Reform this week? Well that announcement came from WITHIN THE CONSERVATIVE CAUCUS. I'm still not sure how the media got in because....according to you...Harper hates the media.
And I truly like this little gem from canuckistanian....."like the cdn media is not like supposed to like provide a like check and like balance on the gov't. like whatever!"
Exactly....it's the job of the opposition and the upper house to provide checks and balances....the media's job is to report the facts...not their perspective...facts don't have perspective...they are what they are.
Hey Anny, its called 'manipulation'... The 'meeting' was actually a zombie cattlecall where Heil Kleiglight Meister Capt. Teleprompter plucked some robotic verse from the ol' Alliance handbook, and untied the zombies' hands so they could cheer -- oops, must have put a little hole in each of their scotch tape masks!
ReplyDeleteThe media is only a tool in Harpor's mad scheme to eradicate Canadian social justice and give us our very own NRA buttons.
Personally, I think Karl Rove is responsible for this...
ReplyDeleteStephane, look! Another example of the vast right-wing conspiracy...
*shriek*
And in response, Dion stated, "mumble, mumble, three peelers, mumble , mumble, meany meany, mumble mumble."
ReplyDeleteHarper works the media like a Swiss watch. Mr. Harper never ceases to amaze. The more he gets bombarded with epithets the stronger his, and the Conservative governments decisions become.
ReplyDeleteHarper deals in the realm of reality, not some mirage as the Liberals did.
Just look at Harpers law-making track record so far, ten Bills are law already, so Merry Christmas, God bless Canada, and us all.
