Conservapedia Vindicates Stockwell Day!

From their entry for Dinosaur:

There are a number of lines of evidence that point to dinosaurs and man coexisting. [2] [3] For example, trained scientists have reported seeing a live dinosaur. [4] A thousand people reported seeing a dinosaur-like monster in two sightings around Sayram Lake in Xinjiang according to the Chinese publication, China Today. [5] An expedition which included, Charles W. Gilmore, Curator of Vertebrate Paleontology with the United States National Museum, examined an ancient pictograph which is claimed to point to dinosaurs and man existing [6][7] The World Book Encyclopedia states that: "The dragons of legend are strangely like actual creatures that have lived in the past. They are much like the great reptiles [dinosaurs] which inhabited the earth long before man is supposed to have appeared on earth. Dragons were generally evil and destructive. Every country had them in its mythology." [8] The Nile Mosaic of Palestrina, a second century piece of art, is said to appear to be a piece of artwork that shows a dinosaur and man coexisting. [9] Since 565 A.D. there are reports about the Loch Ness Monster (Nessie), a large Monster living in the Scotish lake Loch Ness. People, who saw Nessie described the Monster as it would look similar to a dinosaur.

So they did walk with men, in the Garden of Eden, where they lived "in harmony with other animals, eating only plants"!

Goodness! It looks like the nation made a terrible mistake in 2000 by rejecting this good, honest man. And guess whose fault that was? The evil bald one's fault!

"In the past day or so, we have learned that Stockwell Day apparently believes that the world is 6,000 years old, Adam and Eve were real people and - my personal favourite - humans walked the earth with dinosaurs. I just want to remind Mr. Day that The Flintstones was not a documentary. And this is the only dinosaur that recently co-existed with humans.
- Liberal activist Warren Kinsella on CTV's Canada AM, 2000.

Note: Just found Conservapedia (the conservative answer to wikipedia), which I had previously regarded as kind of an Internet legend. Looks like a hoot! I'm waiting for their article on masturbation to appear.

  1. I'm still convinced this is a massive spoof by the Onion.

That it might be real is truly frightening...

  2. From what I know, it isn't a spoof. Apparently, Phyllis Schlafly's son has something to do with it (which would add an element of genetic psychosis to explain this mess). It's an unbroken chain from the rightist propangandists to the home-schooled, un-schooled and 10 year-olds who write for Conservapedia, so who knows where where the boundaries between propaganda/delusion and parody lie.

  3. You should check out the definition of “liberal” in that Kookypedia. It’s hilarious.
