...as a legitimate tool for a subsistence fishery, the U.S. National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) declared after five members of Washington State's Makah band repeatedly strafed a Gray Whale in the Strait of Juan De Fuca, off Vancouver Island.
No word in the story as to whether the five lads always use their .50 calibre on whales, or whether they ever go out just to shoot off a few rounds, or maybe whack some pesky herring gulls:

On the upside, as a White Liberal, I suddenly feel a lot less guilty about my dad, his army buddies, and their "C4 Lures".

That pic is of the German MG34 or MG42 (I can't tell the difference), but it shoots a much smaller round. Do a search on 'Browning M2' for a more accurate picture.
