All Hail The Fluorescent Cat!

They're supposed to lead to a cure for genetic diseases, but I say the important thing is they look bitchin'.

Mind you, this probably won't do much for their reputation as a nocturnal predator.

And in a few years we'll have switched to compact fluorescent cats anyway.

Still cool, though.

  1. We really are getting into Oryx and Crake territory here.

The more sophisticated and impressive technology gets, the more of a luddite I become. That'll only get worse with me until they come up with warp drive or robot slaves or something.

  2. Damn that looks awesome. Too bad you need to shine a UV light on them to make them glow like that. I think I'll wait until they invent one that just glows like that without any special lighting equipment.

They're also awfully hard to screw into the light sockets.

Actually, they are compact fluorescents when they're kittens.

The BBC-TV news reported on this the other night. Their guy's take on it was something like, "We all know cats can see us better in the dark than we can see them. Maybe soon we'll be able to see them in the dark too...... In the mean time, it's evening up the odds for fluorescent mice."
