Free-D Update:Free-D Owner Slams Jason Kenney For Not Backing Canadian Nazis

Jason Kenney, Canada's secretary of state for multiculturalism and Canadian Identity, is down on the CIC's (Canadian Islamic Congress) attempt to hold Macleans Magazine responsible for publishing the shitty fake journalism of Mark Steyn.

Connie Fournier, partial owner of a forum for "principled Conservatives ", Free Dominion, appreciates his efforts, but doesn't think defending the new, down-market version of MaCleans is good enough:

When we were attacked by the CHRC last summer, Jason was silent. When Paul Fromm was to speak in the Parliamentary Press Gallery about the injustice of the CHRC, Jason initiated a vote to ban him from Parliament Hill.

But now Jason is suddenly a heroic defender of free speech. I guess he just had to wait for a popular enough victim to come along before his principles could kick in.

Free Dominion, Paul Fromm, Mark Steyn and Macleans magazine. Together in shame.

"Canada's secretary of state for multiculturalism"

AND Canadian Identity. What have you got against Canada, BCL?

"Connie Fournier, partial owner of a forum for "principled Conservatives"

She's neither Conservative nor conservative and actively campaigned for Dalton McGuinty last election. She's a single issue nutcase who is actually quite liberal and socialist on the whole.

I clicked your link to FD and is says the post has been removed, by the way.

Well I for one am having a hard time taking sides in the Steyn vs. CHRC case.

The guy was just paid a quarter million by Maclean's for his risible coverage of the Black trial, among other revenue streams. A $30,000 fine by the CHRC would probably generate more than $30,000 in free pub and revenue for both Maclean's and Steyn. They both actually benefit from this complaint, unlike the regular Canadians who have been persecuted by the CHRC.

Maclean's stood by and in some cases cheered on the suppression of free speech for decades and I for one will not be tricked into supporting these poseurs.

I have to add that the Speedo of Islamophobia is an ill fit on the flabby Canadian body politic. I don't care how many barrels of ink you have, it's not gonna work.

  4. It is absolute NONSENSE to say that she campaigned for Dalton McGuinty, considering her husband was a candidate for the Freedom Party in their riding.

She is anything but liberal or socialist, nor is she a single-issue person. She has a long history of involvement in the CPC and its non-PC predecessors. Her reasons for leaving the party (if she has left it) are all to do with a lack of wing-nut conservatism in the party.

Anyone who knows me knows how thoroughly I despise Connie Wilkins (I choose not to recognise her lifestyle choices, including her "marriage") and she despises me. That does not give people the right to make things up about her. The truth is disgusting enough and needs no embellishment.
