The site was not set up by Green Shift. It says that clearly on the site. Also, I am not, nor have I ever been a Blogging Tory. I advise you to correct your post.

I looked on the front page and saw no such disclaimer. You have to go into the About page to see the disclaimer. As users need not visit the about page to donate, _bad_ practice.
I have been a member of the Conservative Party in the past, and I have also been a member of the BC Liberals, and the NDP, and for a while in college, I subscribed to the Trotskiyite paper - Spartacist.
Agree with Jason re not linking to the site. Still, it is newsworthy that the site as it was designed (last I checked) doesn't disclose upfront what it is and more than suggests that it IS related to the GS.ca people.
Since the latter claimed to be so incensed that their brand might be used for political purposes (by the Libs), one would think they'd be equally incensed by this Con trick. If it's not illegal, it's certainly unethical.
I sent my contribution to the real Victory Fund and a note to Jennifer Wright about being mixed up with politicos of any specific variety. The level of partisanship in this country is out of control. This is just another example of a "shiny thing over there" to divert the public's attention from the lack of effort by the Conservative government to do anything constructive whatsoever.
The efforts undertaken by the Blogging Tories and their supporters to destroy Ms. Wright's business workday on the launch of The Green Shift was fascinating to watch from a distance. There was no compassion shown for Green Shift Inc. only an opportunity to score political points.
If Green Shift Inc. had not been overwhelmed by BT phone calls and emails, no doubt Jennifer Wright and the Liberals would have mediated a solution. Now however the conservatives have kicked it up a notch for their own amusement. How fascinating that you pretend to care for her and yet there is no letter from Ms. Wright authorizing you to direct money to a legal fund, nothing indicating that you have her permission to further use the name of her company.
I wonder how much of the fund is being diverted to pay for the internet registration, daily blogging, and other expenses of this little sham? Hopefully whoever is involved has at least ordered biodegradable office supplies from Green Shift Inc..
Time for a break before Harper prorogues this session.
sorry BigCityLib, some of my comments look like they are directed at you but are really directed at Robert Jago, the originator of that little shiny thing. I composed in a wordprocessing program and then forgot to change the subjects when redirecting the comments.
Perhaps you should put up Green Shifts phone/email like the Blogging Tories did to express your concerns about what Green Shift is up and ties with conservatives?

We should call them up and say "I gotted this email from teh Boggin Torees to call youse up and ask if youse are affiliated with the Fiberals,"...followed by a loud *burp*

I've killed the content of the post until this gets straightened out. Would be nice to know from Rjago if Greenshift even knows about the site.

In other words...over-stimulated and unfocussed.
I guess I'll flog this again: The Dumbest Generation: How the Digital Age Stupefies Young Americans and Jeopardizes Our Future (Or, Don't Trust Anyone Under 30)
Whatever you do, I hope you don't actually link to it. Don't give these yahoos Google traffic.

Ok, enough of the crank addict.
ReplyDeleteTi-Guy, what is crank?
ReplyDeleteMaybe you can fill me in.
I know what crack is, but I can't find any since I don't live in Toronto.
"I know what crack is, but I can't find any since I don't live in Toronto."
ReplyDeleteLMAO, I don't live in that place either. You get heterosexual bashed there.
Thanks for the chuckle.
