Given the pounding folks laid on KLRvu research in July, I have to take the results of their latest with a grain of salt, even though its encouraging news for Guelph area Liberals.
One interesting thing, though. When Buckets and I were playing around with these guys earlier, the name "Market One Research" came up, whose business model seems very similar to KLRvu's. To make a long story short, it looks like small scale polling (riding level for bye-elections, for example) may often be done by companies that make the bulk of their money as phone spammers.
h/t Scott.
When did they toss "aboriginal" into their description?

prole - They added that the third day or so after the website went up. (Which was -- hahaha -- about 2 years after the company started.)
ReplyDeleteKLRVU's back! W00t!
One had to wonder why the client's name is not released. Generally speaking, the client who pays for a poll wants to release it themself, unless it's for internal use only.

ReplyDeleteWell, JJ, I do recall you telling me a couple days back they had something in the works in Guelph. ;-)
Winnipeg MP Rod Bruinooge (KLRVU owner's brother) describes himself as an Aboriginal Canadian of Métis descent. Conservative Bruinooge is big on revoking the Indian Act and replacing it with Charter protections, replacing communal rights with individual rights.

ReplyDeleteFor some reason this reminds me of this from Blackadder the Third:
'The Adder Party' led by George, Prince Regent, who is described by his party newssheet as a "great moral and spiritual leader of the nation", but is described by almost everybody else as a "fat, flatulent git."

Aboriginal? How much do you want to bet they are doing this because in some government departments, aboriginal companies get preference. I see this all the time in IT consulting here in Ottawa - a company is "aboriginal" but has almost no native employees....
Something smells here...
