Crackheads? Fascists? Nazis?

I'm surprised that Andrew McKeever, NDP candidate for Durham, didn't leave comments on MY blog. He'd fit right in.

  1. *tsk* Such utter filth. I'm blanching...

Good to see that over at liberal.ca. Maybe that'll help pull the stick out of their arses.

  2. Mussolini invented fascism . . . back in the 30's most progressives, here and in Europe, though he was just the greatest . . . kind of like how they feel about the O'bumma One today. Uncle Adolph was a big fan as well . . . patterned his National SOCIALIST Party after his Italian hero.
So . . . big city . . . where does that leave you? A modern day Progressive . . . did you know that most socialist and progressive platforms today are almost identical to those of Mussolini in the 30's???

  4. The Liberals will be polling in the teens by midweek thanks to this stuff.

  5. Maybe, but I'd wish that the NDP would own up to the fact that they may have one or two (or three or four) really kooky candidates.

As much as people say they vote for parties, MPs matter as we can see with the Conservatives since it's the MPs who'll be running various government departments. Ritz, Lunn, Flaherty, Baird, Bernier... Even if you could support the Conservative Party, how many of their own supporters would say that they support these men?

  6. You mean if more Dippers call people cunts, that'll be bad for the Liberals, Robert?

  7. I mean if the Liberals keep fighting with the third place party all they're going to win is third place.

So does every other party. Besides that, McKeever doesn't seem any different than 90% of the people I've encountered on the internet.

Thankfully, 90% of the internet isn't running for office.

Yes, all of the parties have kooky candidates, but I'm a little sad to see how the NDP is handling these controversies. Now, the NDP always has this image of being the morally superior party, but how does this bare out?

For example, instead of investigating Julian West's alledged skinny dipping incident, Jack Layton called it a smear campaign. Is it? Should it have been dismissed so easily? The comments by the people actually involved shows that there was more to what happened than a penis.

I actually feel a little sorry for the women involved since my first reaction was to dismiss the complaintants as being kooks for their outcry... it's just a damn penis. Now it feels like the usual pattern when something happens to a woman -- downplay, ignore, and make the people bringing the accusation forward out to be overly sensitive.

Now, I'd expect something like this from the Conservative party (100%), maybe from the Liberal party, but not the NDP. I may hold them to a higher moral standard, but that's the way they keep on advertising themselves as.

  9. Sorry Sharon, but I have no desire to chase after you as you pick up the goalposts and run downfield with them. You're obviously a rabid liberal supporter looking for any minor blemishes on the face of the NDP to justify your continued support of a party that is going down and unwilling to shift its campaign strategy to try and pull out of the nosedive. Good luck with that.

I think this is the first time in two years any Liberal has been paying attention to the NDP. I think most of them have just been ignoring the screeching. I think that's been worse for them.
