Sarah Palin Really Was Pregnant

The pictures here seem to confirm it. H/T Andrew Sullivan.

But now she has admitted that her daughter is currently pregnant, and frankly it sounds like it might be a bit of a shot-gun wedding.

Someone has written about Sarah Palin that she has that "naughty librarian vibe". God I love that vibe, but I think this is going to turn out poorly for the Republicans. An army of garbologists is even now descending upon Alaska to root through every corner of her life. If she ever whipped her top off to go swimming in the bay among the killer whales, pictures will hit the Net. If there's a sex tape, well, we can only hope there's a sex tape...

(On a more serious note, the revelation re Bristol Palin is a result of the sleazier allegations. Specifically, the pictures which showed a non-pregnant looking Sarah with a pregnant looking Bristol, and which were used as evidence that Sarah faked having a baby to cover her daughter's pregnancy, were almost certainly taken more recently than claimed in the first stories. In them the daughter is pregnant now, the mother pregnant no longer. And the rumour mongers who pushed the original tale had in fact discovered the daughter's pregnancy before this was made public by the family, then juiced the facts for maximum scandal value.)

  1. I agree with Sully the Pooh:

"This seems to put the kibbosh on this, although it would still be good to have official confirmation from the McCain campaign, which should be easy enough to do. Just a simple confirmation from the doctor who was present at the birth."

As for the ethics of garbology...well, that ship sailed long ago and American wingnuts have no one else to blame but themselves.

They should take a few tips from us; everyone knows about Minister of Vice and Virtue Vic Toews's adultery where he successfully inseminated his concubine and it hardly raised an eyebrow.

So the daughter became pregnant in late spring as she was still recovering from a severe case of mono that caused her to miss several months of school? That cannot be healthy, can it?

I do think the Palin family - as a family - do need to work on their priorities a bit.

  3. I think the kids should be off limits.

Besides, more is coming out about her abuse of power more than once, her membership in a party that wanted to separate from the US...and more.

I think her daughter should be left out of it....she isn't responsible for her mother going into politics.

The progressive thing to do would be to simply have the fetus' sucked out of their wombs rather than face the ridicule of the hypocrites from the Left.

The Palin women are honest and straight. They face their mistakes with commitment strength and honesty.

Sarah Palin is like sunlight of vampires. You guys just can't handle this kind of reality. Too old fashioned for you.

    Lay off the kids!

Progressives don't care what she does. We're just enjoying the shame this ungodly, unbiblical fornication has surely brought to this good, pious family.

You should too. This stuff is porn for fundamentalist Christians. They get to picture the writhing, nubile bodies of white teens as they engage in illicit congress and then get to feel virtuous about how this act has not only created life, but a life that is wanted and will be cherished.

    Enjoy it while you can.

    Lay off the kids!

Someone should have told that to Bristol's baby daddy.

Funny, but I thought the progressive thing to do would be to have the choice as to whether she should have an abortion, carry the fetus to term and keep the baby, or carry the fetus to term and give the baby up for adoption.

    You know, choice.

The Palin women are honest and straight. They face their mistakes with commitment strength and honesty.

Honesty. Like being against the bridge to nowhere before she was against it, right?

Reality is that abstinence only sex ed doesn't work. Perhaps Mrs. Palin will eventually come to accept THAT kind of reality.

    Lay off the kids!

So the neo-Cons will lay off Obama's family, then?

  7. I agree, lay off the kids.

"Reality is that abstinence only sex ed doesn't work. Perhaps Mrs. Palin will eventually come to accept THAT kind of reality."

You have examples where abstinence has failed??

One reality the left needs to accept is that even with comprehensive sex education and easy access to contraceptives, abortion still remains way too high.

The failures of comprehensive sex education are hidden by the policy of abortion.

I support comprehensive sex ed for all teenagers, but the left should quit kidding itself that sex ed is somehow more "successful" then abstinence.

"So the neo-Cons will lay off Obama's family, then?"

They've never criticized the kids, something the left should learn.

Here we have an example of poor wingnut reading comprehension resulting from parsing language into meaningless.

Paul S: "abstinence-only sex education" is a noun phrase and is expected to be understood as one concept. And that is what is being described as having failed. And it does. All the time.

abortion still remains way too high.

What is the optimal rate of abortion, Paul? Anyway, the rate has gone down recently in Canada.

The failures of comprehensive sex education are hidden by the policy of abortion.

    How so?

I support comprehensive sex ed for all teenagers, but the left should quit kidding itself that sex ed is somehow more "successful" then abstinence.

Once again, you don't know what you're talking about. Comprehensive sex education includes abstinence.

They've never criticized the kids, something the left should learn.

    Yes, the wingnuts did.

Now, apologise for your stupidity and we'll move on.

  9. Sure ti-guy, most students get comprehensive sex education with the result being over 100,000 abortions a year in Canada. That's probably a rip roaring success in your book.

No matter what happens after sex ed; be it abortion or a young single mother living on welfare, the left considers a success.

  10. So this is how you address political debate?
