Here's a list of what the Tory War Room wants its MPs to say re the looming Liberal/NDP coalition government while giving radio interviews. Here is a list of what the Tory War Room wants its grassroots to say when they call their local talk radio station.
They're the same list! Or, more specifically, many of the talking points are the same word-for-word in both lists. Its gonna feel like deja vu all over again in radio land by the end of the weekend.
This struggle is really going down-market, but how will the Torys communicate with those who don't follow talk radio? High school graduates, for example.
Funny how that email was leaked to the Globe. Are their cracks starting to show?
ReplyDeleteHow funny that the media is stating that a stimulous package was 'expected' in the economic update
ReplyDeleteand the Opps are bringing down the government because of it.
Yet 3 days earlier all the media outlets reported that there would be NO such package in the economic update.
''Earlier in Toronto, Flaherty had said there would be no fiscal stimulus in Thursday's economic update, but officials said one option being considered is to announce measures to get the economy moving before the next budget.
Flaherty said any package would be included in the budget, but that the timing of the budget is being advanced, although he did not give a specific date.''
It's not a leak Gayle, it's a plant.
ReplyDeleteLook at all the free coverage it brings.
Let's be fair bcl - the groups "MPs" and "yokels" probably aren't mutually exclusive.
ReplyDeleteWho's paying for this - taxpayers?
ReplyDeleteJust curious.
By the way - check out Red Tory - re: letter of 2004 by Harper and signed by BLOC and NDP.
Hypocracy is action.
Yokel: not very intelligent
ReplyDeleteYip, Liberals are the smartest people on the planet.
I look forward to watching Liberals kiss Duceppes butt repeatedly,
and Finance Minister Layton roll out his first budget.
The highly intelligent Liberal Party of Canada executive will be appointing half the NDP caucus to cabinet posts in their government.
And with taxpayers money, purchasing separatist support for each and every confidence matter.
The ROC is going to love it.

Sure it is Wilson...because it does not make the CPC look desperate at all.
I think you need a break. I am starting to worry about your health.
You know, when you treat people (journalists) like shit for more than two years, and they sense weakness, they're not exactly going to rally to your side.
ReplyDeleteFeeding frenzy on Harper's bloated corpse.
How many of you clowns have lost your jobs? Had to cut back expectations?
ReplyDeleteGuess Jack and Stephan don't share your pain . . . their taxpayer funded handouts are sacred.
Didn't occur to you clowns that the party taking the biggest hit was the Conservatives!!!
Always said the NDP and Liberals should unit, they are all marxists anyway . . .

WASHINGTON – Just when liberals thought it was safe to start identifying themselves as such, an acclaimed, veteran psychiatrist
is making the case that the ideology motivating them is actually a mental disorder.
"Based on strikingly irrational beliefs and emotions, modern liberals relentlessly undermine the most important principles on which our freedoms were founded," says Dr. Lyle Rossiter, author of the new book, "The Liberal Mind: The Psychological Causes of Political Madness." "Like spoiled, angry children, they rebel against the normal responsibilities of adulthood and demand that a parental government meet their needs from cradle to grave."
While political activists on the other side of the spectrum have made similar observations, Rossiter boasts professional credentials and a life virtually free of activism and links to "the vast right-wing conspiracy."
For more than 35 years he has diagnosed and treated more than 1,500 patients as a board-certified clinical psychiatrist and examined more than 2,700 civil and criminal cases as a board-certified forensic psychiatrist. He received his medical and psychiatric training at the University of Chicago.

ReplyDeleteHow can it be a mental disorder, oldschool, when its so much fun?
ReplyDeleteWelcome back, by the way, you haven't trolled this place since 2007.

ReplyDeleteEminent doctor? Unethical quack, you mean. Both the APA and the CPA denounce the diagnosis of mental disorders without a proper, personal assessment or patient consent.
Rossiter - cheap imitation? Or cynic making money off of gullible rightwingers?
ReplyDelete"...There are four problems with Dr. Rossiter’s arguments against modern liberalism. First, Rossiter never properly defines what exactly a modern liberal is. Second, Rossiter occasionally uses crude and unprofessional language which has the effect of undermining the academic underpinnings of his argument. Third, Rossiter makes statements that he has not taken care to verify. Fourth, his prescription to “eradicate” modern liberalism is impractical at best and at worst an invitation down the path of totalitarianism..."

Brian Topp, Jack Layton's 2008 national campaign director and the co-chair of the NDP's Election Planning Committee:
ReplyDeleteI haven't said these words for quite awhile, but here goes: I agree with Bob Rae. Something clicked this week.
The combination of incompetence and meanness on display in that economic statement, in these times, was a pretty persuasive case that Mr. Harper and his team are unfit to govern, and aren't capable of meeting the obligations this Parliament has to Canadians.
Stephen Harper, when he dies, will probably also bring about a united front between God and Lucifer.
