You've read about the WBTA's B.C. Chair Ernie Slump here and here. Well, it turns out Ernie is a bit peculiar even for a Western Separatist. For one thing, not all of B.C. is even being invited to the Western Separatist Party:
Guess what ! Greater Vancouver and the Island will not be a part of the New West ! Albertans hate that part of BC as much as they hate your part of the country [Ontario]. Too many free loading NDP'er's and socialists. ! ! ! And: Too many third world immigrants and refugees, the Liberals deliberately allowed into Canada and the west, to overwhelm and destroy the western Canadian Conservative vote.
For another thing, watch it if the yankees ever crash the place!
Someday the Americans may decide to invade the west. Should it happen while I am still alive, I would identify Liberal and NDP targets for the U.S.Marine sniper teams. I am a lot more pro-American than I am pro-Canadian...
Some rather conflicting loyalties here, I think. If the U.S. army ever invaded Edmonton, Ernie might be riding the lead tank!
Western separatists should think again: In the US, the Feds regularly usurp state control over natural resources. That's right: NEP-like projects are normal down there.
ReplyDeleteBut these wingnuts aren't ones to let facts get in the way of the truth.
I think hes trying to gerrymander the boundary of his new country to ensure only whites are within the new fascist state of Albortia.
ReplyDeleteI'd actually like to see that third world state form. All those white high school drop outs and uneducated country bumpkins, living in a one resource economy thats about to fail. Actually, Canada might be better off, we'd get all the intelligent labour that moved there who'd scram on first word of this happening.
Yeah, but considering that Banff and Jasper's populations are pretty much half Quebecois, could there be a separation within a separation? Separatist against separatist? As Dwight Schrute would say: "Paradox."
ReplyDeleteGayle. In other words, western Canada separatists are crazy. Some more so than others, apparently.

ReplyDeleteKevin,
If we accept the basic principle of the legitimacy of secession as the great liberal economist Ludwig von Mises expressed it that "no people and no part of a people shall be held against its will in a political association that it does not want" than what we have if Banff, Jasper, Greater Vancouver, or whatever wish to secede from an independent Western Canada is philosophical consistency, not paradox.
I love the wingnut concept of democracy. Kick them out if they disagree or better yet hire a sniper. As a Vancouverite I'd like nothing more than to see their third world low tax society become the backwater it deserves to be.
ReplyDeleteHey they started it!
Wow... Just... Just... Wow.
ReplyDeleteHe's gone from the council-page. But then, so is almost everyone else.
