A Quick Note

Contrary to common opinion, the term "professional whore" is not redundant. Historically, amateur prostitution is a well known phenomenon:

Or, in more modern times, think of the college student that turns a few tricks on the side to make ends meet. Remember that guy on your football team, usually a place-kicker, but surprisingly often one of the front four.

  1. It may not be redundant, but accusing Jason Kenney of professionalism borders on the libellous. ;)

    - Yeah... we all wanna know... lol...

Actually, I've noticed it at University too. It initially shocked me, but I quickly realized that we need to do something about student loans. Of course, for the women in question (and guys) it was about a better standard of living (new cars, better furniture, etc.). When I was in Regina, there were many "high school hookers" (I won't name the schools), but it was big news in the city, back in the late 80s/early 90s. One of the girls we were aware of was very happy about the new cell phone she had... and a car... There were also guys. A buddy of mine managed a gas bar. One of his employees (male) was frequently picked up by women - for a fee...

The oldest profession isn't going anywhere anytime soon... We may see a bit more of it in these troubling economic times...

  4. Speaking of rent-boys, Mark Stain's got a new column up at MacLean's, in which he calls all Canadian men fruits and nellies.

Wishful thinking from the showtunes fan, it seems.

  5. Tiguy, I went to UVIC in BC and York here. Both were slutty, but York far sluttier. That isn't a recommendation, necessarily.

Also, re Steyn, the usual bullshit about Lepine being a Muslim, and I think the stuff on the Titanic is wrong.

Don't know if I can take Macleans free stamps over it. Pretty safe target though: a movie most people haven't seen & most of the people that have seen it think its crap.

Maybe one a possible 300 blogging wingnuts should get the free stamps, since they're from whom Stain cribbed the post anyway.

Mark my words: Next school shooting he'll simply write the same column.

    What a spiv.

  7. Yeah, he's got one column that just gets updated and re-embroidered, doesn't he?
