20 years ago, that was the case when I went to school in Richmond B.C. The anthem was sometimes played at assemblies.
The craven cowards who refused to back the principal's reasonable and well thought-out policy ought to be ashamed of themselves. They were derelict in their duty. The most patriotic thing you can do is to try your best in doing your job, and respect others and the law. Abandonning the rule of law to engage in a witch hunt against people deemed insufficiently patriotic isn't even ironic: it's just pathetic.
And yet in Quebec we don't sing it....
