    1) I really doubt the NDP would support the Conservatives. I could be wrong, but I'm probably not.

    2) Really? The Liberals are going to criticize New Democrats (prematurely, by the way) for what the Liberals have been doing all along?

  2. Wouldn't surprise me. Harpo tried a coalition before with the seps and marxists to bring down Paul Martin. He is desperate!

  3. @devinjohnston:

I hate to point out the obvious, but the NDP has been more focused on trashing the Liberals than holding the Conservatives to account since the last election. (and arguably before that)

There's more than a little bit of reason to suspect that Harper and Layton are in cahoots.

  4. I think it makes abundant sense. Currently, the odds are, at best, 50/50 that an election will change governments - unless the NDP goes down the formal "coalition" road with the Liberals - which would seem politically unwise for either party.

Harper's in power. Harper has the power to make things happen in a way the Liberals can't. Layton needs something to suggest to the public and his supporters that he's got SOME efficacy in Parliament..

It's a weird sort of win/win in a Machiavelian way.. though, as a Conservative, I suppose I would point out the difference between "finding concensus" and "making a deal to hold power".

  5. I notice that Harpo could not bribe jacko into some form of convenience. Jacko will now go and try to sell his body to the LIBS. He just wants a cabinet job and is jealous of Bob Rae.

  6. The Liberals are buying Michael Jackson's body? Where are you getting the inside scoop Tery?
