On why Barack Obama's Nobel Peace Price isn't as silly as it sounds.
Its a gift from the world to Amercia, for electing a non-asshole.
But will it help or hinder him domestically? Being loved by the rest of the world is not necessarily a quality Americans admire in their leaders.
Obama's just about to escalate the war in Afghanistan and commit 40,000 more troops.
ReplyDeleteThis isn't premature. This is magical thinking.
Obama has done exactly nothing to promote peace throughout the world, this must be some kind of a joke and if not the prize itself just became the joke.
ReplyDeleteBarry O' may have war on a third front shortly. Iran. Oprah should have won.
ReplyDeleteSo, the only other leaders that won it were Teddy Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson and Mike Pearson. Each did something concrete. Hey, Pearson negotiated the Suez issue and saved the world from war.
ReplyDeleteThis is just US asskissing BS
A few others former leaders have won it (Pearson was not yet a leader)
ReplyDeleteJIMMY CARTER
YASSER ARAFAT
YITZHAK RABIN
NELSON MANDELA
FREDRIK WILLEM DE KLERK
OSCAR ARIAS SANCHEZ President of Costa Rica
MOHAMED ANWAR AL-SADAT
MENACHEM BEGIN
WILLY BRANDT
KARL HJALMAR BRANTING Prime Minister Sweden
I meant leaders and former leaders.
ReplyDeleteJonathan Kay: Nobel prize goes to the 'nice man with the best speech'
ReplyDelete'bout says it all
"'bout says it all."
ReplyDeleteDarn tootin'!
Let's all talk that like that. It'll be so fun and folksy. So authentic.
Anyway, I'm glad Jonathan Kach...I mean Kay....has stopped crying long enough to write something.
Jonathan Kay couldn't even sum up the fingers on one hand using the fingers on his other hand.
