Iggy Rethinks

Solomon said that in an interview for CBC Radio's The House to be run on Saturday, Ignatieff told him that (paraphrasing) he has backed away from a wholesale rejection of the Conservative government to opposing them on an 'issue by issue' basis.

My view on supporting HST harmonization legislation here (short version: Go For It).

  3. Gayle,

as always by living in an "academic fantasyland".

    cheers

  4. better than your boring world CS. At least there's something to do in Gayle's world besides listening to you carp on endlessly about Ignatieff. Im not even going to touch your masturbatory Michael fantasies.

  5. Gene R

    watch much Star Trek still?

It is time to enter the real world.

The Liberal broke their promise years ago to be responsible and voters are now starting to show their disdain.

Stop blaming the voters and look in the mirror.

Many of us exliberals could not continue with a party that refuses to do any heavy lifting.

The rural vote is gone, Roman Catholic gone, visibile minorities gone.

The Liberals promised big with the Red Book and the conservative split allowed them to form a majority. Those days are long gone.

So dream the wonderful fantasy or rebuild the party and stop blaming us who left the navel gazing latte sipping Yorkville snobs years ago.

    Cheers.

  6. Hello - anyone in Toryland aware it's "2009"? Want to play the game?

We can go back and get lots of OLD stuff on the Tories.

    Grow up.

Oh well, what can you expect from people who wet their pants because Nixon, Harper and Hitler all play(ed) the piano.

Yup - good governance requires piano playing.

  7. "watch much Star Trek still?

Worst comeback of 2009. Truly lame CS.

You seem to have a habit of answering comments with answers from your own world.

Earth to CS, reality isnt your bag.

Keep masturbating over that Iggy centerfold CS.

  8. Time is up? Is Iffy done messing with Harper?

Gene two consecutive posts focused on genitals, interesting Gene, what are you compensating for?

    rofl.....

It must be very painful with a party that only leads in the under 25 demographic.

It is time for the nurse to ship a bodybag on his leadership?

    Cheers

  9. RuralSandi,

fill your boots, the last election does not support your thesis.

The CPC gained seats. The Liberals had their worst showing in over 100 years pop. I did NOT blame Dion.

You need to "grow up" and stop blaming the leader when people like you post the wafer-bodybag-racist-hidden agenda BS.

    Canadians are tuning you out.

  10. Canadiansense aka Conservative Talking Points. I love how one individual believes that they speak for Canadians. Ego problems CS (amongst others)?

  11. "Gene two consecutive posts focused on genitals, interesting Gene, what are you compensating for?"

Actually I was commenting on how your Ignatieff obsession seems like a masturbatory fantasy.

It was your mind that got onto the genital thing.

So what are YOU compensating for?

  12. "fill your boots, the last election does not support your thesis."

Apparently Gayle, to make an effective argument in CS world, you only need one example.

  13. Seriously, other than the obligatory mocking post, I suggest CS be ignored. His plan is only to derail intelligent conversation by asking his non-sensical questions, and to launch a personal attack whenever his "sense" is questioned.

Naturally, that means he launches many a personal attack.

As to the point at hand, the LPC will take a hit for backing down, again, but they took an even bigger one for refusing to back down. I think it is time for them to hunker down and stay out of sight so the media can concentrate on the CPC for a while.

Despite Jim's little fantasy, I am quite confident the LPC have "something". They just need to wait until people are paying attention to something besides their internal politics before they bring it out. Which leads to point number two - stop airing dirty laundry in public!

  14. Gayle again proving why your represent the party of nothing.

Gayle your arrogance is showing again.

Ignore everyone and listen to me.

Those non believers in the Liberal party are too stupid and they are wrong.

Gayle perhaps the few hangers on left are wrong?

Nevermind. You don't listen, just preach the intelligentsa gospel of knowing better.

  15. Does anyone over here want to tackle the Liberal vote against the reno tax credit?

With Iggy having said "consistently for a month is in those cases where the government brings forth legislation we can support or approve or amend, we’ll do so", does that not mean that the Liberals are really against reno credit?

It is tough playing it both ways isn't it?

    ReplyDelete
  16. I would like to tackle the fact Harper was playing political games with scheduling that vote.

Just like he does with many votes. But that is not an issue YOU like to address, is it.

At some point you are going to have to accept that Harper is as corrupt as all who came before him. That Harper's goal is power, and he is willing to sell out his principles in order to hang on to that power - even to the point where he is willing to govern like a liberal.

As for the vote against the reno tax credit, Ignatieff made it very clear why he was doing so and that he would still support it if there were an election and a liberal government.

In fact, Ignatieff made it pretty clear why he lost confidence in the government. Unfortunately that message got lost in the whole election speculation.

So he may have lost the PR battle, but that does not mean you should take that to mean he had no reason to topple the government.

    ReplyDelete
  17. So what he said yesterday about being consistent in supporting good legislation was a lie?

It cannot be both ways Gayle.

BTW I will issue a challenge to anyone to provide me examples (links) of Ignatieff where he said "consistently for a month is in those cases where the government brings forth legislation we can support or approve or amend, we’ll do so"

Have fun finding what does not exist.

  18. Does anyone over here want to tackle the Liberal vote against the reno tax credit?

In other words: "I'm a Conservative troll and I want to shift the discusssion to an attack on the Liberals, here at a Liberal blog."

Go fuck yourself, Blogging Tory scum/Albertard. Or better yet, explain to the rest of us how you can be part of an aggregator that features so many clinically insane primitives, like "Dodo Can Spell?"

    ReplyDelete
  19. Oh, and FYI. If you try to challenged anything on the Albertarded Aardvark's blog, he'll engage comment moderation.

    I know...pretend to be shocked.

  20. Gayle,

Iffy simply made another mistake and boxed himself in by trying to get the monkey off his back.

He adopted the NDP policy and it failed miserably.

The NDP and Bloc are not forced to cooperate with the Liberal Party on votes.

Iffy should have simply implemented a case by case basis without the tough guy declaration. Let Harper fail if the Bill is unacceptable in the HOC.

    Offer negotiations and amendments.

Instead Iffy drew another line in the sand, insulted everyone and pretended he could call an election.

This last threat has turned off the majority off Canadians.

Calling the government racist and declaring a crisis every week is simply pathetic.

    Peter cried wolf too often.

  21. Iffy should have simply implemented a case by case basis without the tough guy declaration.

Amounts to pretty much the same thing, since everything the Harpies do is objectionable. Either stupid or dishonest.

  22. Ti Guy

you are the reason for use for moderation on blogs.

your existence is evidence of why birth control is necessary.

TI-guy just an anger bitter flacid person acting tough on the web behind an alias.

  23. Ti-Guy,

anger management issues, lack of power or control in your life, compensating again through an alias?

  24. CanadianScent:

As a poorly-socialised, right wing loser, you're probably not familiar with the type of person who is energised by stupidity and is positively gleeful when the opportunity arises to smack them down, hard.

That strikes you as uncontrollably angry, because you only know two emotional states...hysterical gush and adolescent temper tantrums, like the kind you've been having here. And the only come-back you've got is the type your mother uses on you, such as this conceited and witheringly disdainful crap:

"anger management issues, lack of power or control in your life, compensating again through an alias?"

Yes, dear. That's my problem. That and my alienation from society due to my fierce intelligence and scary good looks.

  25. "Gayle..."

    Are you still posting?

I already did the obligatory mocking post. Time for you to move on.

AA - what are you talking about? What does that have to do with anything anyway? Still trying to change the channel?

    ReplyDelete
  26. "AA - what are you talking about? What does that have to do with anything anyway?"

Couldn't find any quotes from Iggy huh?

Perhaps you should read BCL's original post again, which was about Ignatieff and his "consistant" issue by issue opposition. BCL calls it a "rethink", Ignatieff claims that his position is unchanged.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I thought his original post was pretty clear.

What does "backed away" mean in your little world?

By the way, I could not help but notice you are still censoring on your blog. What's the matter - my last post his a little too close to home?

    ReplyDelete
  28. Yes he did back away, which was probably the wisest thing to do. Not being a wise move however is Ignatieff trying to claim that he did NOT back away and that this has been his position all along.

Do you really not see the difference or do you just choose not to see it?

    ReplyDelete
  29. Oh. My. God.

You mean a politician is wordsmithing and spinning? Really?

If we all decided to never vote for a politician who did that we would have no one to vote for.

I am so glad this little spin is so much more important to you than Harper lying about the deficit. Good to know where your priorities lie.
