I see he's found a way to get around after his license suspension. Is that the Horny Tim's location where the busty hookers hang out? Or did Jaffer mistake the coconut cream donut for a cocaine cream?
Which would mean that both Big Daddy and his friends in the media think there's some benefit in keeping the exact nature of this scandal a secret.
That's the kicker. Harper kicks a minister out of caucus, won't tell anyone why and the media doesn't seem to care. The only thing I can think of is that they're having fun guessing... that and Taber doesn't report on anything until someone hands her a press release.
If this goes on any longer, I'm going to go to Ottawa and create the damn scandal myself.
Shiner and I can get set up the aliases while you are on your way. It shouldn't be hard, you could throw a rock in any direction and hit a precocious Conservative staffer/operative. We would just have to appear very eager, smarmy, and youthfully impressionable.
But seriously, I think you are onto something Ti-Guy. These little details about Jaffer's trips in the limo seem to be a way of trivializing the issue as if though it is nothing more than a "witch hunt," a meme that took very little time to be promulgated into the blogosphere and out into the general discourse. After all, it won't take long for the the CPC"s footsoldiers and vanguard to start subsequently the "But but the Liberals" meme up again. There will be enough Tu Quoques flying around to make entire Philosophy departments nauseous.
Firing a Cabinet Minister is one thing (Mulroney had , on average, one minister embroiled in a scandal for every year he was in government), but kicking her out of the caucus suggests something more, and if the usual suspects whine enough, the media might predictably treat this with kid gloves. So much for the "Liberal" media.

ReplyDeleteSo appropriate.
ReplyDeleteBeing chauffeured, to the local Timmies, to enjoy coffee with the double, double crowd.
ReplyDeleteSaid double, double crowd can't figure out the irony.
Sort of like Flaherty using a jet to go to Tim Hortons, in London.
Man oh man, are these guys full of it or what?
If the allegations don't rise above the seriousness of simply misusing Guergis's stuff, this thing should fizzle out quickly.
ReplyDeleteWhich would mean that both Big Daddy and his friends in the media think there's some benefit in keeping the exact nature of this scandal a secret.
Which makes me hate them even more.

ReplyDeleteIt's a lot easier than doing actual reporting and keeps us rubes glued to their tired and useless "news" products.
