Stockwell Day Brags about $40 Billion Deficit

...argues that freezing all conference travel, hospitality, and conference spending at 2009 levels will lead to "an eventual improvement in the economy".

You point a cluemeter at Stockwell, and it reads "0".

  1. I was going to tell you to get your facts strait, but I see you changed the post heading. Link still says 54 bill, and Liblogs still has it up that way.

  2. Way to go Frunger.

Good job, coming on here to defend the honour of the CPC.

Thanks, for letting us all know, that the deficit is $40 billion, and not $54 billion.

You forgot to mention that freezing all conference, travel, and hospitality, spending to 2009, levels will lead to an eventual improvement in the economy.

Lets see, Con apologists are jumping for joy, because we have a $40 billion, deficit, instead of a $54 billion deficit.

Did all you Cons, jump for joy when we had a balanced budget, and surpluses?

He didn't come here to "defend the honour of the CPC". He came here to point out that the claim of a 54 billion dollar deficit was incorrect. He was more polite than I would have been...I would have just called the original poster a liar for attempting to falsify the number, and you an idiot for trying (and failing) to deflect attention away from that fact in such an inept and amateurish fashion.

If we're going to be sticklers for the facts, the deficit's not likely to be $40 billion either. Note that in Day's release, he says it's going to be "likely be just over $40 Billion."

For the first eleven months of the fiscal year it's at $40.5 billion.

So it's not $54 billion, but it's still $40 billion more than Flaherty said it would be under his watch

  5. Being called an idiot by Fred from BC usually means you've got your facts straight.

And it's spelled straight Frunger. Have you been collecting bottles in the alley with Fred for booze money?

    Fred from BC,

    Fuck off you useless troll.

Wow...great rebuttal, genius. I particularly love the way you patiently and methodically dissected my argument, addressing and demolishing every assertion point-by-point until I had no option but to concede that your superior intellect and devastating use of logic

(..ah, hell. I can't finish...I'm laughing too hard...:)

But you keep trying, little guy.
If that's what it takes to bolster your fragile little egos, you and your butt-buddies just keep right on giving it your best shot, okay?
Don't let anyone tell you that you're not good enough, or smart enough...never give up on your dreams!...
