BCLSB Exclusive: Fox News North Recruits A New Guy!

Its just rumor, but it makes sense, esp. as he may be able to travel more extensively in the near future.

  1. That's funny! Now what if he actually DID get a show?

  2. Michael Ignatieff would be a better choice for SunTV.

MI is also a well-known author and broadcaster, returned to Canada just last year after spending three decades in Britain and the United States.

Are they going to have a How to show on kickbacks?

  5. RS,

you are entitle to be angy with MI. It is not nice to call Ignatieff pathetic, it is just mean.

Did he ask you to shut up?

Many grassroots liberals are very uhappy with the current affairs of the OLO but you don't need to be nasty about it.

MI has an extensive background in media.

He managed to write a book over the holidays after the GG consented to prorogue parliament in December 2008.

Conrad has never pretended to be left leaning. MI could cover both sides of the issue and save money for SunTV.

Just like he supported the coalition under Dion, attacked it and left Layton at the altar. Today he admits it is an option again. Ignatieff has this wonderful trait.

    Na, guess not.

Maybe some of us should take the time to put up Harper lies, etc. in our comments - oh so many lies, so little time.

Many grassroots....unhappy...what an absolute exaggeration. A couple are unhappy. So Con of you to exaggerate.

Perhaps Black could run the crime and punishment segment and how to use your influence to get out of trouble.

Hmmm, Black no longer has a Canadian citizenship. Would he be let back into Canada with a criminal record? Others aren't.

  7. Completely OT, and I apologize, but this is too good to get buried:

How many cops does it take to write a jaywalking ticket

  8. Mike (host)

cracks joke CB would be good SunTV employee.

(I think he is too wealthy and SunTV could not afford him)

MI has vast international experience and could talk about the US and Britain.

MI will be dumped if he repeats the Dion numbers in next election. We both agree some in the party, media want his head, a merger etc.

Patience is a problem for some not all Liberals. (See John Turner history)

Most polls don't show a recovery- breakthrough for the Liberal Party. His leadership-trust number are behind Layton. Most pundits have stated he may need NDP + Separatist support.

Campaigns matter and everyone has experience running it except MI.

From a financial point of view the Liberals are limited to Youtube and radio spots.

Just saying MI would be a good asset to SunTV as Kory was for CBC.

    Conrad not so much.

Nice of them to give a guy who spent some time in jail a second chance.

Yeah, and how much different it is it right now? Without the support of the Liberals, the NDP , and the Bloc the Conservatives would have fallen.

One poll shows the Conservatives losing seats and the Liberals gaining some. How long will Harper stay in control of the Conservatives if the best he can do is get a minority government (and with his best numbers potentially behind him). A leadership race should be fun, especially since no one would be at the helm to keep control. Can't wait until the lid is taken off of that barrel of monkeys.

  10. If FoxNorth/Kory-VisionTV would be lucky to sign on Black and give him his own show. Believe it or not he would probably be very good at it, and there’s a good chance you’d find me tuning it (provided the CRTC forces Kory-TV on the Cable providers).

I actually had the pleasure of attending a University seminar that Conrad Black gave back way-way back (long ago when I was a student and Black wasn’t charging $500/plate) which he gave about Hebert Hoover & the beginnings of the Great Depression. The man did the whole seminar ad lib, reciting facts from memory …no reference notes what-so-ever. The prof there was flabbergasted.

Thinking back the seminar was somewhat ironic, as one of the few things to stick around from FDR’s ‘New Deal’, despite all the US financial deregulation over the past 25 years, was the SEC. The same SEC that gave Black all his legal problems, and ultimately jail time.

The point is I think Conrad Black missed his true calling, he would have made an excellent business history professor. From there it’s not too much of a stretch for Black to become a professional political hack. And unlike say; Monte Solberg, Ezra or Kory himself getting a show …Conrad Black would be very good at it.

    CanadianSense still hangs around here?!?

Really, why would Kory-TV want to hire a Liberal?

Tell us the truth, you played with mercury as a child didn’t you?
