Anders On A Roll

Two Tory(?) MP's blackmailed; one "accepted sexual favours" from sexxxy Chinese spies. Ah well, at least the one got laid. But they'd have to be gov. MPs, right? Otherwise Anders would have finked them out.

  1. I dunno, this whole thing is making me nervous. Maybe I'm wearing tinfoil, but it's looking more and more like an elaborate setup to point at the LPC. The seeds were put out there by CSIS, now Anders is bringing it back up with specific (to a point) accusations. Now the media hounds the CPC about it and eventually a Conservative MP comes out and says "Okay, okay, I didn't want to say anything, but it was this Liberal MP and this Liberal MP!"

Then again, if the Chinese were going after opposition MPs... well, they always seemed more crafty than that, "Yes Iggy, keep voting with government, I love you long time."

  2. Why would you offer an opposition MP a business deal? No point to that unless they're on the gov. side.

  3. Anders referred to a very overweight disheveled guy (like he's such a looker) - that would bring in half the obese Con caucus.

  5. Anders may be doubling down on the possibility that if any information would come out, that it may show that this putative influence is widespread. Further, by ingratiating themselves to the Falun Gong and presenting themselves as principled brokers of Chinese foreign relations, Anders could very well be muddying the water just to put distance between his party and whatever repercussions (if there are any) may come out. It also makes for a good diversion to rile up the Conservative Vanguard Footsoldiers.

I suspect that Anders is blowing a smokescreen here. He wouldn't be reckless like this if actually he knew that this sort of thing would be extremely damaging to the CPC. We know how Harper treats whistleblowers.

Or two-thirds of the obese Liberal caucus? Grow up, Sandi...even for you, that was childish.

  8. It occurs to me that this is a rather odd thing for Canadians to be concerned about. Aren't the Conservatives already doing everything the Chinese want? Ripping up foreign ownership restrictions, fast-tracking environmental assessments. They're selling off our resources as fast as they can out of ideology, who cares whether anyone's getting laid in the process?
