And Then They Called It News Again

OTTAWA - The mystery of Peter Mansbridge's chair has been solved.

Thank you, Brian Lilley. From all of us. For doing that newsgathering thing you do, the way that only you can do.

  1. Just imagine if Sunmedia used a fraction of the energy that they have expended in their witch hunt against the CBC in probing the billion or so spent on the G8\G20, they just might regain a smidgen of credibility.

This however is about more than merely harassing and intimidating the CBC, it is all about moving the media fenceposts further to the right in a concerted effort to convince Canadians that we are more right wing than we actually are

  2. Canadians don't need any convincing Kev. We are more right wing then the CBC believes or approves of.

For that billion dollars we give them each year, maybe it is time the Mother Corp started properly representing the broad mosaic that Canada actually is.

  3. They could, for example, as Paul S. intimates, spend tons of money figuring out where every chair they ever owned got to. Get off the gravy train, CBC! Tag and catalogue all those chairs!

  4. It's not a big story but a hell of a lot bigger than a communion wafer. The CBC demands MPs and politicians be accountable with public money but they pretend they are not accountable for those same taxpayers dollars? I don't think so.
I heard of the Walrus but never bothered to read it. Why would the CBC choose to help them with a donation?

  5. The Walrus is published by The Walrus Foundation, a non profit charitable organization. So the chair was donated to charity .

  6. ridenrain continues to spew her shit all over the interweb. Are you seriously comparing your favourite sweater wearer's palming of the communion wafer to the donation of a chair to charity? Troll.

  7. For accepting an illegal and undisclosed donation from the CBC (note how they only said the chair would be auctioned off after their little deception was disclosed) we should rescind all government support for The Walrus.

  8. Interesting that lilley and WK write for the same newspaper. One would think WK had higher standards.

The sun chain is worse than the brit tabloids in many respects and a ot more trivial.

I agree that 'ridenrain" is a troll

  9. You know,if Chairgate is all they can come up with then the CBC is either the best run organization in the land or Sunmedia the most incompetent

Only one pays their own bills without burdening taxpayers.

  12. "Only one pays their own bills without burdening taxpayers."

Only one was created with the specific goal of Canadian content, has higher Canadian content rules in its mandate, and provides local programming to remote places which is not profitable.

But you carry on pretending these facts do not exist. I understand most conservatives are fact-phobic, what with reality getting in the way of their misinformed diatribes and all...
