Like I already wrote on media culpa, they have to contact the authors who have been plaigirized with a succinct letter detailing all the abuses. They should then send a bcc to rival reporters at competing papers. Expecting the G&M to publicly dress down their (arguably) most famous opinion columnist is an exercise in futility. The only chance one has is having another columnist point it out. It's what happened at the NYT, and it is what will happen here.
