Its David Rose

So its best to ignore him when he writes on the issue of Global Warming or, really, on any issue, but this bit:

The continuing furore caused by The Mail on Sunday’s revelations – which will now be amplified by the return of the Arctic ice sheet – has forced the UN’s climate change body to hold a crisis meeting.

The UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) was due in October to start publishing its Fifth Assessment Report – a huge three-volume study issued every six or seven years. It will now hold a pre-summit in Stockholm later this month.

...is pretty close to a straight-out falsehood, as Mr. Rose has already been told by one of the scientists he quotes in the article that, well...
But, again, its David Rose.  He has a long history of mis-hearing what he's been told.

  1. It's called selective hearing.

  2. Still doesn't change the fact the arctic ( and antarctic) isn't cooperating with the doomsday predictions of the Alarmists. Perfect example is the Maslowski prediction ( 2007) of an ice-free arctic by sept 22 /13. Only 13 days to go! Yes, we are watching all these doomsday predictions and will call them out as they are proven spectacularly wrong.

  3. No, Maslowski predicted 2016 +/- 3 years. And he is of course just one guy. Most think an ice free arctic summer is due more around 2040.

It's been said that " The Love of Theory, is the Root of All Evil"

I could go on for days outlining theoretical predictions that haven't materialized so they push the goalposts around to suit hoping we'll all forget. No more.

  5. Which says 2013 earliest, 2020-ish liklier.

  6. Perhaps you could ponder the thoughts of a real climate scientist.
