The Media Should Be Talking About This

It was in Frank, apparently the one day last month when I was not on the Internet.  It's seedy, a sex scandal, although everything between the two parties appears to have been consensual.  And the Minister is a "nice guy", and anyway it turns out he's leaving politics.  For the time being. Nevertheless, it seems an important Conservative  has been caught violating the moral code he and his ilk would like to impose on the rest of us.  We don't really know because nobody, nobody has demanded a response from Mr. Moore. And I don't like the idea of the MSM just turning a blind eye, which appears to be what has happened.  It reeks of being trapped in the same Ottawa bubble for too long with the people you are supposed to be covering, of Stockholm Syndrome, of  mistaking prey items for friends. In any case just think of what the coverage would have been if it had been  someone like Justin caught out this way.  It would have been a feeding frenzy.

  1. Ya have to wonder about the idiot- horney- reformatory convergence.

  2. I saw Antonia Zerbisias mention this on Twitter only to have Stephen Maher sarcastically call her "classy" for having done so.

  3. I agree with Maher its cheap American Style Politics and I want no part of it. There are plenty of things Moore has done or been part of that one can attack him on in good faith.

  4. I don't care what style of politics if its true. Why should reporters decide whether the news they're reporting is "classy" enough to report?

  5. I am of two minds. On one hand it is personal, and for his wife's sake if nothing else, maybe we should stay out of it. On the other hand it speaks to his character and his honesty and integrity. If he breaks his promises to the most important person in his life, what does that say about his willingness to break his promises to a bunch of people he has no personal relationship with? If he is a liar and a cheat who lacks integrity, surely people should know that before they vote for him?

  6. Just because the media is aware of something does not make it newsworthy.

  7. Of course the media should be reporting on this matter. He's a public figure in a government that sells itself on high moral values. Failure of the MSM to pursue this has allowed Moore to retire using his disabled child as cover.

  8. I was wondering why he took off, sighhh, well I guess the media want sources that don't involve a left behind phone, though its fair game.
I bet it was tough getting corroborating sources/witnesses as so many are fooling around in all sorts of ways. The cons are all liars, cheaters and sleazeballs and if one starts ratting out the others, the bricks will all come tumbling down.
I still wish they could catch Harper cheating:P
