Here's a story from Lifesite about Damian Goddard, whose messages on twitter in defense of "true marriage" allegedly got him fired from Sportsnet, taking the matter to the CHRT. Presumably, he will argue that he was discriminated against on the basis of religion, he being a devout Roman Catholic.
There. Parity has been achieved.
Hey, BCL - sometimes, the only way to show the hypocricy of the system is to use it.
ReplyDeleteI've, personally, encouraged several clients to file complaints with the AHRC based upon discrimination issues that aren't typically policially correct.
Because:
a) If they summarily dismiss the complaint - it displays the hypocricy of what they do; and
b) If they uphold the complaint, it illustrates to the progressive side of the spectrum how dangerous a largely unaccountable HRC really is.
RG, why do you think that, if this guy won, I would think the HRC is dangerous?
ReplyDeleteAs a contract employee he'd have little recourse.
ReplyDeleteAnd while Rogers claims he wasn't fired for his disgusting, immoral lifestyle, it matters little even if he was. He wasn't fired for his disgusting beliefs, he was fired for associating them with Rogers.
Rogers responds (in the Toronto Star)
ReplyDeleteRogers Sportsnets spokesman Dave Rashford responded with a written statement Thursday, saying, “Mr. Goddard is aware of the reasons – which are well documented – why he is no longer with Rogers Sportsnet.”
“Out of respect for our employees we do not discuss personnel issues in the press. We will, however, bring forward the facts during any proceeding initiated by Mr. Goddard.”
.... popcorn is so fattening.
I like the way you think BCL.
