Moving Along With Sun TV

Last night, after watching my wife toy with a hapless life insurance salesman for several hours, I found myself too tired to check my email.  So this morning I find that who but Sun TV has left a message asking me if I'd guest on Coren's show today and talk about the state of the White Supremacist movement in Canada (riffing on the Wisconsin killings, obviously)?  That interview will air at eight tonight; I'll post the youtube clip when it becomes available.

It went well enough.  Coren slightly left-footed me towards the end when he asked me straight out why Holocaust Denial should be illegal, and I muttered something  about "standards of discourse".  However, I did manage to get in a shot at the federal government for not moving to beef up C-319 of the criminal code (as they have promised to do) after repealing section 13 of the Canadian Human Rights Act.  And I was quite happy with my hair, which achieved today its slightly dishevelled,  "got this sexxxy by accident, and if it were any sexxxier the other guys wouldn't have a chance" look.  As for the crummy picture below (shot on a cheap tablet), that's what's outside of the Sun TV building--an application to put up condos on the site.  Given what's happening with Postmedia, its enough to make you go hmmmm.
PS.  Ran into Kathy Shaidle on the way out.  She didn't recognize me, I don't think, but I got a small sample of her hair for the database when she wasn't looking.  It might turn out to be useful in oppressing her come the Day of The Great Freedom Oppressing.  I'll just say that Five Foot is looking the best I've seen her, is even approaching the outskirts of the city known as Hot.

Brief Notes On Gerard Kennedy's Beard

I had heard rumours to the effect that Gerard Kennedy had "gone the full commie" (ie grown a beard), but now that I've seen pics, I am somewhat assuaged; I can still imagine doing a business deal with the guy, for example, which in many cases is simply inconceivable
I mean, a few Canadian politicians have made it work--Pablo made it work--but usually the result is disaster.  The beard wears the man.  And of course its not as bad as bald, which Mussolini ruined for generations of aspiring public servants.
But if Gerard runs again, it should definitely come off.  The beard, I mean.  His other hair is, as per usual, excellently placed and coloured.

Its Not Power And Politics

...but if you watch to the end you can see me sounding off on the No Frills Veggy section.  If anyone from P&P is watching, however, please note the ample, wind-swept hair, which I believe compares favourably to Anderson Cooper.

H/t Imp for finding the clip.

Lest We Forget: Federal Taxes Going UP!

Virtually all workers in this country will take home less of their paycheque next year, according to the Canadian Taxpayers Federation’s latest calculations.
[...]

“Nearly every working Canadian will be paying more in income and payroll taxes in 2011,” said Derek Fildebrandt, CTF national research director.

Courtesy Stephen Harper and his CPoC gov.
By the way, I am including a shot of Derek Fildebrandt, who I have had the pleasure of debating on the Michael Coren show, because as far as I'm concerned he has world class hair. Up there with the hair of Gerard Kennedy and Pablo Rodriguez (but of the short spiky rather than long and ample variety). You can't really see it in the picture, but the tips of his hair are a different colour from the parts further back. Very sexxxy. I don't know how you get your hair that way. Its as though a man was crossed with some sexxxy wild beast.

Ah! If only I was younger and somewhat less straight.

Or It Could Come Later Rather Than Sooner...

You know, I thought when summer ended, Canadian politics would become interesting enough again that this kind of vacuous speculation re the timing of the next federal election would be replaced by substantive debates over issues of importance. But, eyeing the gov's fall agenda, I guess not. I mean, for example, why push mandatory minimum sentences for human smuggling if you never catch any human smugglers in the first place? Isn't that like making a law to ban leprechauns? Who cares if it does or does not pass?

Oh, and here's Monte Solberg rattling on about the gun registry again. You don't have to read it...or rather, you're read it already 1,000 times before.

My problem under these circumstances is I'm running out of MPs with decent hair to write about. Hmm. This one isn't too bad.

A Parliamentay Wasteland...

From The Edmonton Journal:

Canadians this year have little room to poke fun or wax superior to our neighbours when it comes to a lack of substantive discourse.

[...]

The Ottawa landscape before us has rarely seemed less exciting, and that's saying something.

After the gun-registry vote, its a vast wasteland, with Bill C-32 likely to disappear into committee until everyone alive today has died of natural causes. In fact, that's one of the reasons the registry vote is getting wall-to-wall coverage. Poli-junkies know that its down-hill after that. Concentrate on their hair, people! That's all there is to see! In the end, that's all there ever was! Concentrate on their hair!
