Provoke The Ez into further ranting; hang  his words on the CPC government.  Interesting in that team Trudeau thinks they can pick a fight with someone who "buys ink by the barrel", as they used to say, and win.  It tells you something about the fallen state of today's MSM that this calculation actually makes sense.  

If you haven't followed the whole "photo-bomb" story, don't worry about it.  Or you can go through some of the links above.  To me the most interesting thing about it is the willingness of  the LPC to play rough with these idiots.   It used to be that representatives of the print media carried a bit of gravitas with them.  Now, given the industry's declining state, being criticized by a scribbler is akin to getting yelled at in the street by a homeless guy.  Why not give 'em a kick?

Ezra Levant has sent out an email soliciting donations to fund yet another defamation case he's caught up in.  I recieved a secret first draft of this email by a mole within the Sun News Network. I am reproducing it here:

Pretty loathsome stuff, as per usual with The Ez.  Thing to remember is Ezra don't delete unless someone tells him to.  Like boss Kory Teneyke, or a Sun News lawyer.

Those not familiar with Sun News host Ezra Levant — who also founded a propaganda organization and website to promote the fossil fuel industry and target environmental groups — might be interested to know he has been proven in court to be less than credible, with a judge in one case ruling that he spoke in "reckless disregard of the truth." In fact, he's currently facing another in a string of libel charges. He's also had to apologize publicly for rants and comments that were deemed racist and has been found in violation of the Canadian Broadcasting Standards Council's ethical guidelines. He doesn't believe in the science of climate change, thinks recycling is "pointless" and believes Canada should put all its economic eggs in the oil sands basket. Many of his attacks are ad hominem — that is, they are aimed at perceived flaws in an individual's character rather than his arguments — and most are blatantly false.

Incidentally, his latest libel case, which I expect to end as all the others (with Ezra, or whoever finances Ezra, paying up), has been delayed until January.

CBSC Dings Ezra

Ottawa, September 9, 2013 - The Canadian Broadcast Standards Council (CBSC) today released its decision concerning comments made about “Gypsies” on Sun News Network.  During his program The Source, Ezra Levant made negative comments about that ethnic group.  The CBSC found the broadcast in violation of the Canadian Association of Broadcasters’ (CAB) Code of Ethics and Equitable Portrayal Code.

The CBSC did not, however, require that Sun News  announce this decision on air, having decided that the network had grovelled sufficiently via its previous apologies, which I wrote about here.

A Day In The Life Of Ezra Levant...

...and the day is not yet over.  By the way, this is what he's talking about.  Ezra claimed the two lads were drunk and unruly.

Ezra Goes Bananas!

Ezra Levant was completely entitled to cast doubt on the sincerity of the Chiquita company and to call for a boycott of its products because the latter does not share his views on the relatively “green” nature of the Alberta oil sands. However, Levant did not stop there. He began by accusing the Chiquita company of being anti-Canadian bigots, which is, all in all, acceptable in treating a controversial issue.


However, while it became apparent when viewing the segment in question that Levant was reading from a prepared text, he indulged in language excesses that widely overstep the limits of what is acceptable in dealing with a controversial issue, even from a biased point of view. He named the Chiquita executive who is a man with a Spanish name and said in a distinctly aggressive tone, several times, that the latter was a liar. He then concluded his tirade by hurling the following offensive insult, particularly to Hispanics, at the Chiquita representative: “Hey you. Yeah you, [name of Chiquita executive]. Chinga tu madre.”

Some more background here.  Amazing how Ezra manages to scare up so much controversy and still nobody watches his show.

Meanwhile, 61 per cent of the people who voted in Bourque's bogus poll want Ezra to contest the Conservative nomination in downtown Calgary.  Prime Minister Levant.  Has a nice ring to it, if you ask me. C'mon, Ez, you can't win if you don't play.

Ezra Levant On SLAPP Suits

Today's he's talking them; yesterday,  he was launching them.  And of course everyone wants to support a Canuck against the oppressive Saudis.  But, based on past experience, if anyone could successfully slander a primitive tyrannical dictatorship, its Ezra "defamatory and with malice" Levant. 

In fact if the Devil himself sued Ezra for slander, I suspect the Devil would win.

Another Lawsuit Against Ezra Levant? Place Your Bets!

 Given that lawyers involved represent "enemies of the West", I'm tempted to cheer for the home-town boy.  But, given past experience, when any organization Ezra's involved with gets sued, they tend to cough-up.  I'm wondering how long before Fox News North, who are also running the ads, pulls them and grovels in public.

The IFPSC’s website prominently features both Geert Wilders and conservative bloviator Ezra Levant. Both the National Post and the Sun newspapers gave Mr. Wilders tons of space when he was in Canada, including the Sun’s entire front page, while Mr. Levant – a prince in the Empire of the Sun – devoted a column to him and a cringe-worthy 44-minute interview on his nightly show on Sun TV, must viewing for several Canadians.

Incidentally, I haven't been writing as much recently becaue majority government politics is boring, especially in summer, and I have found it more engaging lately to lounge about in the sun doing nothing.  Should anything even slightly interesting occur before Labor day I will attempt to rise to the occasion.  No promises, obviously.

...has been bulldozed, to make way for an LCBO, a paintball facility (including laser tag!), a No Frills, and maybe a Dollarama. Or so I've been told.  But the abject humiliation does not end there! I hear that The Sun staff has been crammed onto floors 13 and 13-A. One floor up from them is a radical mosque, which calls adherents to jihad 9 times a day through weird horns that sound like somebody was trying to make bag-pipes sound shittier. One of the loud-speakers they use--bolted into marble gifted to the T.O. Sun founding fathers by Prince Henrich in the old days when things were way whiter--is right outside Ezra Levant's office, which used to be a stall in the mens-room. He's also the guy they expect to answer the buzzer and  tell any errant jihadis they're on the wrong floor.  He's supposed to be polite about it too.  All that "politically incorrect" bullshit goes out the window when the folks paying the bills show up.

I have a crush on Ezra so it is really hard to say anything that can be construed as critical. Ezra, I adore you but do you remember that dinner back in October in Ottawa hosted by the Canadian Centre for Policy Studies? Remember the story Mark Steyn told about what it was like to be a guest on the Glenn Beck show? How Glenn would wax on and on about the guest and whatever the guest wrote/spoke out about but never actually let the guest speak?


Yeaaaahhhh.

Sorry buddy, but you need to let your guests speak a bit more. I know you have a lot to say and I want to hear it. Maybe you could let your guests speak a little more - you have lots of airtime coming to you so you don't have to get everything out there in the first week.

It's like the time I told my friend Lula that she needed to get her upper lip waxed. It was hard for me to say and it was harder for her to hear it but it had to be said.
