Linda Leatherdale Is Back

I don't usually have enough bad things to say about the T.O. Sun and other like newspapers, but I've spent enough time on the phone with Linda over the years to be happy for her:

She's baaaaack. Linda Leatherdale, ousted from her longtime job as Money Editor in December, returns to the Toronto Sun this Friday and Sunday in a Homes-Extra.ca fall new homes and condos preview section. The Sun's Money section hasn't been the same without her.

Meanwhile, prepare for the battle of the free newspapers. T.o.night went live yesterday, and 24 gave itself a face-lift to prepare. It's The Sun vs. ex-Sun employees.

My Favorite Sunshine Girl

...has rejoined the ranks of the employed:

Linda Leatherdale, the former veteran Toronto Sun money section maestro, has a new job at Cambria, 'the fastest growing quartz surfaces brand and company in North America.'

Congratulations, Linda.

Linda Leatherdale Lands On Feet

Congrats to Linda Leatherdale, the Toronto Sun's booted business editor, for finding a new radio voice on Bill Carroll's morning show on CFRB 1010.

As I've mentioned previously, I've had the pleasure of talking with Linda on 100s of occasions over the years. She even helped me get started in this whole "wannabe journalist" thing way back in the 1990s when I discovered that Toronto's new property assessment regime was going to screw over renters. All you could do back then was write letters to the Ed and call your local business reporter! Primitive times!

Anyway, its nice to see her still able to put food on the table.

Linda Leatherdale & Scott Morrison Out At TO Sun

Pity, I've met Linda a couple of times and spoke to her on many occasions throughout the years. She is a genuinely nice person and I hope things go well for her wherever she lands up.

That said, Scott Morrison is the more difficult decision to justify. Its been clear for awhile that The Sun has been cutting back on its business section. But tabloids=sports coverage, don't they?
