A sad, sad scene.  Kory is home sulking.  Ezra is out on the sidewalk hawking pencils to pay-off his latest defamation suit.  When they lower the shutters its gonna resemble the "lights out" sale at Target.  You wanna lap-top?  Hang out around back at 25 Ontario Street and some guy will bring you one with the SNN label stuck on its side.  Cheap!

Just Resting

Regular readers will note it's been quiet around here.  That's because of life-maintenance stuff, work, and a few other things.  And being a little bored by the world as it stands at this moment.  One possibly exciting  thing coming up is the next step in my CBSC complaint against Ezra Levant and the Sun News Network.   When you first complain to the CBSC about some media outlet, they forward your complaint to said media outlet and give them 21 days to respond directly to you.  We're in day 17 and I have got no response out of SNN so far.  The clock is ticking.

That clip with me and Rebecca Thompson on the Pat Bolland show last week has finally appeared. Quite enjoyable actually.  Mr. Bolland is a genial presence and there was a good conversation, not the high-speed babbling of competing talking points.

Sun News Regrets, Part Bazillion

Insiders (the Sun News Network mole) are telling me that the station's legal staff committed mass suicide the other night.  They couldn't hack  the long hours.  And, if you look at the original apology, its sandwiched by an ad touting the Canada Economic Action Plan and an ad for Immigration Canada.  So, mandatory carriage or not, you the taxpayer area already funding this crap.

Application by TVA Group Inc. and Sun Media Corporation, partners in a general partnership carrying on business as Sun News General Partnership, for mandatory distribution on the digital and analog basic service pursuant to an order issued under section 9(1)(h) of the Broadcasting Act of the national English-language specialty national news Category C service Sun TV News.

As I have mentioned previously, I've heard from insiders that if they don't get mandatory carriage they're screwed, and indeed Steve Faguy says they are losing $17 mil a year and need 18 cents per subscriber per month  to get by.  That in mind, you can leave "an intervention" on this issue at the CRTC home page.  You will, I think, find plenty of material on the Sun News Network in the archives here at BCLSB that should help you craft your intervention.  Remember, when you are writing, that if this application fails, Ezra Levant will have to move back home to his dad's basement.
