From a new Ipsos-Reid Poll, reported here among other places. A number which is bound to go lower. Support for the extension is highest in Alberta (66%), and lowest in Quebec (27%). Nothing too surprising there.

Perhaps the people in Quebec picked up on Harper's lies about what he is going to do.He pulled the wool over all of us, while pretending "extension", whereas it it really means more fighting, which I do not agree with.

OTTAWA - Support for Canada's troops in Afghanistan remains relatively high, according to a new poll, which shows 57% of respondents backing the mission despite an increase in casualties.
The National Post poll, by Ipsos Reid, found support up slightly from a pair of Ipsos Reid polls in March, which showed 54% and 52% approval ratings.

And apparently the next troop rotation will involve more soldiers from Quebec.
Oh, that would be a big mistake. You can't get Quebeckers to respond seriously to mauldlin sentiment about war at all.

Same poll, anon. The numbers you quote are for the "mission" not for the "mission extension".
What is it the anonymous ones who are always so brilliant? Go figure.
