Synopsis
A group of so-called government funded "experts" whip up alarmist fears of a killer shark off the coast of Amity, a sea side town. Their goal is to destroy the local tourist industry, send Amity back to the dark ages and thus achieve their underlying socialist agenda of wealth redistribution. The heroes of this tale are the local major and business leaders who lead a successful audit of the alarmist claims and by doing so manage to delay action long enough that the beach remains open. In the end it turns out a shark has been eating people.
Funny stuff. The comments are good too.

He describes himself as a climate denier. How does he explain the atmosphere?
Atmosphere is where all the heavy snow is currently coming from Gene. Even you should know that.
Warmers are never one to let a good snowfall go to waste (or a drought, or a hurricane, or a tornado, or a wet summer, or a dry summer, or a late spring, or an early spring, or a mild winter, or a cold winter) and are already claiming the current snowstorms are AGW related.
Duh, Paul S. I'm well aware of what an atmosphere is and dont have such a simplistic view as you do.
But if you really want to have a serious chat about climatography, put your cards on the deck. You've done it before and it was appreciated.
It's climatography too, not any nonsense talking point. That means it can encompass both views of climate change. I understand quite a bit about climate and biomes (got a degree in this stuff) but you just assume that Im some sort of van living hippie.
But it wasnt me who claimed to be a climate denier. Denying climate? Really?
"Climate - the regular pattern of weather conditions of a particular place"

It's not about whether I know what a climate is Paul, but weather you denialists actually understand what you're talking about. You assume that Im one sort of person (concocted in the heads of right leaning people and not at all realistic) yet in reality Im a completely different kind of person.
In the end, whether you believe in climate change or not why do you think you need to shit in your own bed with polluting Canada? Would you drop a load in the turkey before Christmas dinner?
"It's not about whether I know what a climate is Paul, but weather you denialists actually understand what you're talking about. "
unintentional pun. Though it doesnt excuse you for dismissing what you don't understand.
I appreciate your comments Gene except for the part where you fall into seeing all others as "deniers".
Warmers having been running roughshod over anyone with any questions for years and it has been a failure. Even worse, now you've lost the public's ear.
In the end, whether you believe in climate change or not why do you think you need to shit in your own bed with polluting Canada?
Gene, environmental standards have been improving every year in Canada for decades and that is going to continue.
To eliminate fossil fuel use though, would impoverish tens of millions of Canadians. We aren't ready for that yet.
Climate Science Coalition Vindicated
“NIWA makes the huge admission that New Zealand has experienced hardly any warming during the last half-century. For all their talk about warming, for all their rushed invention of the “Eleven-"Station Series” to prove warming, this new series shows that no warming has occurred here since about 1960. Almost all the warming took place from 1940-60, when the IPCC says that the effect of CO2 concentrations was trivial. Indeed, global temperatures were falling during that period."

So much for AGW!
Oops

Here is an explanation of what is wrong with Deno's quotation. In fact NZ temperatures continue to rise:

Deniers are liars.
Deniers are liars. - HS
LOL.
You can see how well that strategy is working with the public after the disastrous conclusion at Copenhagen and the already forgotten conference in Cancun.
The fact is Holly the raw data shows no warming. It is only after AGW freaks alter the data that a warming trend shows up so Holly the liars and frauds are on the warming side not the skeptic side.
AGW freaks are liars and frauds
The fact that global cooling is a much bigger danger to the human race over the next millennium then global warming ever could be is beyond the capacity to AGW freaks to understand.
Deno
Deno, get out out of la-la-land. Earth is warming up. You are too stupid to understand data of any kind.
Paul clearly thinks it's about changing people's perception, not about understanding reality.
Contemptible liars.
Deno, The climate coalition stuff is bunk. The old and new NZ records are essentially identical.
Paul clearly thinks it's about changing people's perception, not about understanding reality. -HS
Reality is, without deep and broad support from the general public, any true action will not happen.
But I hope you at least got a nice tan in Cancun Holly.
Holy, BCL
Can either of you link me any prediction from any AGW freak that predicted record cold temps in Europe in the future or record snowfall in the NE US or Australia getting snow during their summertime that is from 2005 or earlier?
Oh BTW here is an oldie but a goodie prediction from March 2000
March 2000 Article from The Independent (UK):
According to Dr David Viner, a senior research scientist at the climatic research unit (CRU) of the University of East Anglia, within a few years winter snowfall will become “a very rare and exciting event”.
“Children just aren’t going to know what snow is,” he said.

Sorry here is the link and the entire article.
What a joke AGW freaks have become!

Snowfalls are now just a thing of the past
By Charles Onians
Monday, 20 March 2000
Britain's winter ends tomorrow with further indications of a striking environmental change: snow is starting to disappear from our lives.
Sledges, snowmen, snowballs and the excitement of waking to find that the stuff has settled outside are all a rapidly diminishing part of Britain's culture, as warmer winters - which scientists are attributing to global climate change - produce not only fewer white Christmases, but fewer white Januaries and Februaries.
The first two months of 2000 were virtually free of significant snowfall in much of lowland Britain, and December brought only moderate snowfall in the South-east. It is the continuation of a trend that has been increasingly visible in the past 15 years: in the south of England, for instance, from 1970 to 1995 snow and sleet fell for an average of 3.7 days, while from 1988 to 1995 the average was 0.7 days. London's last substantial snowfall was in February 1991.
Global warming, the heating of the atmosphere by increased amounts of industrial gases, is now accepted as a reality by the international community. Average temperatures in Britain were nearly 0.6°C higher in the Nineties than in 1960-90, and it is estimated that they will increase by 0.2C every decade over the coming century. Eight of the 10 hottest years on record occurred in the Nineties.
However, the warming is so far manifesting itself more in winters which are less cold than in much hotter summers. According to Dr David Viner, a senior research scientist at the climatic research unit (CRU) of the University of East Anglia, within a few years winter snowfall will become "a very rare and exciting event".
"Children just aren't going to know what snow is," he said.
The effects of snow-free winter in Britain are already becoming apparent. This year, for the first time ever, Hamleys, Britain's biggest toyshop, had no sledges on display in its Regent Street store. "It was a bit of a first," a spokesperson said.
Fen skating, once a popular sport on the fields of East Anglia, now takes place on indoor artificial rinks. Malcolm Robinson, of the Fenland Indoor Speed Skating Club in Peterborough, says they have not skated outside since 1997. "As a boy, I can remember being on ice most winters. Now it's few and far between," he said.

continue:
Michael Jeacock, a Cambridgeshire local historian, added that a generation was growing up "without experiencing one of the greatest joys and privileges of living in this part of the world - open-air skating".
Warmer winters have significant environmental and economic implications, and a wide range of research indicates that pests and plant diseases, usually killed back by sharp frosts, are likely to flourish. But very little research has been done on the cultural implications of climate change - into the possibility, for example, that our notion of Christmas might have to shift.
Professor Jarich Oosten, an anthropologist at the University of Leiden in the Netherlands, says that even if we no longer see snow, it will remain culturally important.
"We don't really have wolves in Europe any more, but they are still an important part of our culture and everyone knows what they look like," he said.
David Parker, at the Hadley Centre for Climate Prediction and Research in Berkshire, says ultimately, British children could have only virtual experience of snow. Via the internet, they might wonder at polar scenes - or eventually "feel" virtual cold.
Heavy snow will return occasionally, says Dr Viner, but when it does we will be unprepared. "We're really going to get caught out. Snow will probably cause chaos in 20 years time," he said.
The chances are certainly now stacked against the sortof heavy snowfall in cities that inspired Impressionist painters, such as Sisley, and the 19th century poet laureate Robert Bridges, who wrote in "London Snow" of it, "stealthily and perpetually settling and loosely lying".
Not any more, it seems.

Question: "Holy, BCL
Can either of you link me any prediction from any AGW freak that predicted record cold temps in Europe in the future or record snowfall in the NE US or Australia getting snow during their summertime that is from 2005 or earlier?"
Answer: Crickets chirping
Well, I could quote from your article, Deno:
"...Heavy snow will return occasionally, says Dr Viner, but when it does we will be unprepared. "We're really going to get caught out. Snow will probably cause chaos in 20 years time," he said..."
That seems close enough.
Or I could point out that global warming does not necessarily mean there will be less snow in any particular place. The effect of global warming in the Arctic may be what is causing the change in air currents which are bringing more snow to Britain.
You don't imagine that you have proved that global cooling is now occurring, do you? I'll bet you can't find any peer-reviewed publications arguing that, since clearly the scientists are finding the global temperatures are still rising.
