News Flash: REAL Women's Gwen Landolt Does NOT Condone Executing Gays For Being Gay

Sounds like she's getting soft.  The article then goes on to out you know who.

PS.  About the term "practicing homosexual".  If you have to practice, does this mean you're not very good at it?

Real Women In The Senate

Senator Terry M. Mercer gives government Senate Leader Marjory LeBreton the gears over anti-Gay hate group Real Women's being invited to help hand out Diamond Jubilee Medals in honour of Queen Elizabeth’s 60 years of service to Canada.  I don't think any of this has come up in the HOC; perhaps someone in that chamber could make an effort.  REAL Women really are bad news.

Real Women Should Not Be Choosing Diamond Jubilee Medal Winners

From Xtra:

A Canadian group whose homepage currently states that one of the biggest threats to families is the “homosexual lobby” and “the media” has been appointed to help government decide how to award Diamond Jubilee Medals to honour Queen Elizabeth’s 60 years of service to Canada.

REAL Women of Canada, a socially conservative, anti-feminist group that often acts as an intervenor in court cases that oppose queer rights, will recommend medals under the social and volunteer category.
If I were to explain in a few lines why they shouldn't be involved in this event, I would choose these lines from a 2003 speech by their National Vice President Gwen Landolt:

"Before I got involved in the UN people would talk about one world government and I said "oh yea, yea, yea", I didn't believe it. But after REAL Women has been to roughly 30 UN meetings I realize that the UN is a tool for maybe a handful of 300 people to control one world government, and certainly the international criminal court that is coming up is going to be used as the tool to attack the Catholic Church and all other religions. I know it's coming."

"It's all part of the same package. The homosexual issue is being used, discrimination, human rights are being used...to bring in the whole thing and one world government..."

Now, this presser suggests to me that Xtra is a little late to the story and the medals have already been awarded.  But if you still want to send the GG a disapproving email, here is his contact page.

h/t

Update: I am informed that medals will be given out through the course of 2012, and RW's involvement will continue for that whole period of time.  So an email to the GG is definitely still in order.

Lets just Call Bullshit Now, Shall We?

Mama Kay cites a study sponsored by

...the Drug Prevention Network of Canada and Real Women of Canada...

...to challenge research in The Lancet which purported to demonstrate that the Insite Clinic in Vancouver saves lives.  That's  REAL women, Gwen Landolt's old gang.  Tomorrow somebody will produce actual evidence demonstrating that this counter-study is bullshit, but we can deploy some inductive logic right now. REAL Women have always dealt in bullshit.  Based on past experience, they are likely dealing in bullshit now.

There.  You don't have to read the study or Kay's column.

While You Were Sleeping

The Stephen Harper Torys were gutting the Canadian Federation for Sexual Health, formerly the Planned Parenthood Federation of Canada. Gwen Landolt of REAL Women is well-pleased, and so presumably is Tory MP Brad Trost, who has been trying to eliminate Canada's funding to the International Planned Parenthood Federation. The CFSH is the Canadian member of the IPPF.

Shit! That Brad Trost guy is everywhere.

Update: Interesting timing with this.

Whom You Would De-Homofy, You Must First Defund

Given Kady's musings re the Tory's witholding of funds for the Montreal, gay and lesbian arts festival Divers-Cite, it seems apropos to mention this open letter to Stephen Harper from REAL Women National President Cecilia Forsyth, which appeared on July 16th on the website of the Canada Family Action Coalition. That, of course, is Charles McVety's gang. In the letter, Ms. Forsyth criticizes the Harper Tories for funding Toronto's Gay Pride Parade, and makes a vague threat:

There can be no long-term stimulus by giving taxpayers’ money to homosexual groups. Such individuals do not make a substantive contribution to society by producing and raising children – essential for the future of our country. Instead, their high medical and social costs are not a public benefit. Canadian families are struggling in these difficult economic times, and a grant of this magnitude, to promote a hedonistic lifestyle, serves only to devalue their struggle.

The Conservative government’s decision to contribute to the promotion and marketing of the Toronto Gay Pride Parade condones the homosexual life style. It is an indication of your government’s abandonment of your political base. A low voter turnout in federal elections is already a concern, and this grant will only serve to exacerbate this problem for the Conservative government.

Yours truly,

Cecilia Forsyth
National President

Canadians Apologize To World For SSMarriage

CFAC, REAL Women and others have issued an open letter to the remainder of the planet apologizing for Canada's legalization of Same Sex Marriage:

We are grieved and troubled as we consider the impact this is having in weakening the fundamental institution of marriage in countries and cultures around the world. We understand that because Canada does not impose citizenship or residency requirements in order for same-sex individuals to be “married” here, couples are coming to Canada to seek legal sanction for their homosexual relationships with the intent of returning to their own countries to challenge those countries’ legal definition of marriage.

Well, its a free country, and you can apologize to whoever you want for whatever reason you want. But if I were saying sorry for things Canadian, I would probably start with Celine Dion, and work my way slowly through Ralph Klein, Nickelback, and C difficile before I got anywhere near our current suite of rights legislation.

(PS. That little "pansy boy" crack of mine in the last post got me turfed off the drafting committee of the Homosexual Agenda, where I have served quite proudly as the only straight white male. Somebody finked me out to the United Nations! Now my own personal dream--that dangerous convicts should be able to express themselves by redecorating their prison cells--will probably be eliminated from the final document. Way to go, people!)
