On Nice Guys

Bernie Farber, running for Liberal MPP up in Thornhill, has a good column in Shalom Life, touting the Ontario Libs accomplisments in health-care.

Dennis Gruending, whose excellent blog explores the interconnections between Pulpit and Politics has a book coming out which does the same thing and is, perhaps unsurprisingly, entitled Pulpit and Politics.

That is all.

Have you read the comments under Farber's article> Seems his brother in law takes issue with Farber referencing his wife's death from cancer.

I read those comments Mavis and quite honestly I have to wonder if there is something else going on there with the brother-in-law.

Very low of Bernie to insinuate Mike Harris was responsible for his sister in laws death. His brother in law set the record straight....She received excellent care.

Rotterdam, Harris' cuts were responsible for many of us suffering with cancer. In the 1990s even into the early part of this decade try getting home nursing to deal with the ravages chemo. There were so few we were lucky to get service once a week.

In the last 8 years or so there has been a huge turn around. its not perfect but so much better. And yes some people died others were in pain who didn't need to be.

I don't know whats going on with Mr. farber's brother-in-law. I do agree with him that what health care was offered was always exceptional. problem was it was at times so hard to get and many of us had to be shuffled from hospital to hospital. I for one am glad those days are over.
