John Tory's Statement Withdrawing From Upcoming Debates
"With Doug Ford entering the race and less than six weeks to go until election day, we have entered a new phase of the campaign. John has extraordinary demands on his time and, unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate every event and request."

That takes some gall. He must think his lead is unsurmountable. Either that or he's a lousy debater. But to be generous what few pleasant golfing days remain will be gone by the time of the election. (Get it now, Andrew?)
I would suggest that this move presages his approach to the office, assuming he's elected.
