ScandalGate!!!

Mulroney's been caught in another one! Specifically, the Registrar of Lobbyists is trying to figure out whether his discussions with industry minister Maxime Bernier re Quebecor and the opening of the wireless industry to competition constituted illegal lobbying. You see, at the time, Mulroney was NOT registered as a lobbyist and

"Secret lobbying is a recipe for corruption, waste and abuse of the public interest," [said Duff Conacher, of the public ethics advocacy group Democracy Watch].

Corruption, baby! Corrrrrrrrrrrruption!!! Its rank odor pierces the cold Autumn air. An investigation is surely in order and, indeed, The Office of the Registrar of Lobbyists may soon launch one.

PS. What happened to the Tory agenda? Has anyone seen it? Is that it, sad thing, plastered flat under the mud and goo, and covered in Mulroney fleas? I hear the Harper Tories are down to hassling Muslim women again. How proud they make me as a Canadian!

PPS. Is there a non-racist term for "tar-baby" that I can use in these posts?

That's a direct link to the cabinet and Mr. Harper. Clearly favours are circulating.

Mulroney has managed to link himself to the PM, Nicholson, McKay, and Schreiber... oh and lest we forget, Sandra Buckler in the PMO, who tells the entire caucus - including cabinet - what to do. Sandra also worked for Mulroney.

The Harper cabinet is so deep into the Mulroney scandals one hardly knows where to begin.

Glass houses, everyone:

An examination of Elections Canada records over the past 24 years for contributions made by Mr. Schreiber and four of his companies shows $10,000 donated to the Liberals, compared to $6,100 in contributions to the Tories. Mr. Schreiber himself gave the Tories five separate donations between 1987 and 1991, ranging from $1,000 to a high of $2,000 in 1988, the year Mr. Mulroney was returned to office.

One of Mr. Schreiber's companies, Bear Head Industries Ltd., made the single contribution to the Liberals -- $10,000 in 1993, the year Jean Chr├ętien became prime minister. Industry Canada records show Mr. Schreiber as the only director of Bear Head, based in Port Hawkesbury, N.S.

The receipted public donations are of no consequence. The indirect and/or secret payments are of significant interest.

Anonymous said...

The secret payments are of interest to whom? Nobody cares about a 20 year payoff. And it could tar and feather Conservatives and Liberal alike in the end.

"Mulroney has managed to link himself to the PM, Nicholson, McKay"

Who would have thought that a former Progressive Conservative Prime Minister would have connections to current Conservative cabinet members (all of whom used to PC party members)? The connections are simply fascinating. Good work, Gumshoe.

thanks for the help said...

so the NDP have let loose Mulcair to attack dog the Liberals, the Liberals are trying the old drive by smear on the Cons and the government just keeps chewing away at delivering new laws. Coll. Please keep this up.

Steffi is so stuck on stupid. He says the Earth is on death watch but uses his photo ops in QP to say the words Mulroney and Harper as many times as possible in 30 seconds.

Please keep this up. It is the perfect smokescreen for the government and nobody except the PPG and desperate Liberals care about.

The rest of the country knows that our extradition laws can be bought & sold at will by anyone with lotsa money to hire slick expensive lawyers.

BigCityLib,

Check the IP address of your annoymous spammer.

As for the annoymous spammers so called lack of interest in the secret payments... the posting here shows how worried they are.

The spammer is so typical of the CPoC propaganda machine... on the one hand they "don't care" on the other hand they are active lying... saying those linked to the Schreiber scandel are not CPoC but then, oh behold, they are CPoC... the very foundations of the inner Harper circle.

And then there is of course the attack by the annoymous.

Spammer, you did not stop me from getting you into federal court appealing a guilty verdict from Election Canada, so don't think for a moment you thugs are going to stop me or the ethics committee either.

Harper's cabinet is significantly implicated in the Schreiber-Mulroney cover-up... gotcha!

Walks With Coffee said...

At this moment, Schreiber is where and in whose custody.

Legally, he is out on bail awaiting extradiction, which is delayed until January 15th (or longer).

Legally, he is supposed to be in the custody of the Speaker of the House of Commons.

In fact, he is in the custody of the RCMP (who have no jurisdiction or authority to hold him in custody).

Why is the Justice Department continuing to interfere with the testimony of Karlheinz Schreiber?

I await an anony-tard to challenge me on that point.

The desperation to change the channel from Steffi to anything that you can throw mud at is rather obvious.

Don't put too much faith in your new uber-buddy. KHS is smart enough to know that PMSH is the guy who can keep him in Canada for the rest of his days, so he'll make nicey with him at the expense of past tense politicians of any stripe.

It will be most entertaining.

God, I can smell the Hells Angels/Neo Nazi funk coming off this right through the monitor.

Has anyone else noticed how a lot of CPC supporters talk like they're involved in organised crime? I'm willing to believe it's just a bunch of basement-dwelling fantasists playing too much Grand Theft Auto, but you never know...

Oh, and by the way...

PPS. Is there a non-racist term for "tar-baby" that I can use in these posts?

"Tar-baby" isn't a racist term. It's an effective metaphor developed, ironically, through African-American folklore. If someone's come up with a better description for "a problem that becomes more aggravated the more one tries to solve," I'd like to hear it.

Anony-tards...here's your chance to shine...

By the way, how's it going with that little project you and Carol Jamieson were working on to try and force the Conservatives to declare election expenses for all the blogging time put in by the BTs. Haven't heard much about that one lately. Then again, I would say that, given that I'm just another paid party operative.

Get the IP on RR, BCL. You'll be the first to be interviewed when the lard-ass rolls up to the top of a university tower and takes out a few of the innocents below him.

There's those online threats again. You are indeed the toughest motherfucker on the Internet.

Let me guess - you're not very tall nor very broad are you Ti-Guy? I detect a fair bit of small man syndrome in your pitiful threats. You compensate for a lack of physical stature by taking on a tough-guy demeanor whenever it's safe to do so.

Walks With Coffee said...

"Conservatives to declare election expenses for all the blogging time put in by the BTs. Haven't heard much about that one lately. "

You must be either lying or out of the loop,

My direct complaint is in federal court. It has several components:

A. The BTs is an election scam - now publicly confirmed by Tom Flannagan and Privy council records showing payments to the BTs

B. Cheque swaping (see front page of the Van Sun)... aka "in and out" and what the CPoC is in federal court fighting

C. Directly about advertisign expenses involved using"cheque swaping"... the exact case in federal court.

Yup, I gotcha!

Ti-Guy said...

Shut the fuck up, you obnoxious fat-ass. Either go back to your tard-blog and accuse me of raping and murdering Kristen French (which you did before) or hold a KKK conference to martial a bunch of your rightwing fuck-buddies (Loomis, Knight of the Right, Richard Evans, Jeff, etc. etc.) to plan a virtual assault on some liberal target.

...or give me your address, and I'll come over and kick your fat, fucking ass, once and for all.

You. Fucking. Obese. Racist. Rapist. Pig.

Raging Ranter said...

Ti-Guy, I'm not giving you my address. But, I'll be getting my car rust-proofed this morning. While the car is in the shop, I'll be at Carlingwood Shopping Mall. Meet me in front of the PharmaPlus at 11:00 a.m. We'll see how tough you are.

Eugene, I'm aware of the so-called "In-and-out" case. I've neither read nor seen anything about the case regarding the BTs being an election scam. Are you sure you're not confusing components of "you're" case with figments of your imagination?

Walks With Coffee said...

Raging Ranter (boy does that name give you away!),

See the front page of the Van Sun and Baraba Yaffee article... I've been publicly accusing the CPoC of "in and out" aka cheque-swapping for three years.

In all your "raging" you never bothered to read the complaint... even though I was all over the internet saying explicitly to look at the CPoC’s advertising budget numbers... and look, Elections Canada did!!!! And now you are in federal court!

And yes, we all now know that the BTs is a part of an advertising scam by the CPoC... that is now not news to anyone. The BTs is a sub-scam of the CPoC’s advertising scam, which is and was my complaint to Elections Canada.

And now there is the Cabinet-Mulroney-Schreiber scandal.

Harper is a brilliant stratagist.

He's set it up nicely:

1) Get the Liberals begging to look into past regimes (going back 13 years and for a sum of only 300 g's that's not even stolen taxpayer money),

then,

2) Start inquiry regarding where the tens of millions of stolen taxpayer funds went,

right about election time.

I look forward to the "that's water under the bridge" complaints from Liberal supporters.

And the icing on the cake of brilliance:

Harper's actually leveraged liberals' reactions to be used against liberals.

Walks With Coffee said...

The CPoC is involved in an Adversting Scam (money laundering scam) they were found guilty of by Election Canada.

Adsam is a project the government of Canada undertook to advertise Canada during the Quebec referendum.

In the CPoC case, nearly 20% of the CPoC officially participated... and are appealing a guilty verdict.

In the LPoC, some businesmen defrauded the government of Canada by not using the money to advertise Canada during the referendum.

Now/Today, the Harper Cabinet is involved in a cover-up and giving favours to Mulroney.

That is then and now.

Cheers,

Walks

happy fella said...

Walks,

yes that's all it was. (sarc)

Liberal MP's, most likely current sitting MP's, were the direct recipients of those stolen funds.

Tens of millions of stolen taxpayer funds.

Most people (those in the non-partisanly blind, reality based community) won't shrug off the notion of directly using those tens of millions of stolen funds to keep themselves in power.

You on the other hand seem to find no problem with that.

I applaud how you wear your liberal party ideals (or lack thereof) on your sleeve.

Keep up the good work.

Walks With Coffee said...

"Liberal MP's, most likely current sitting MP's, were the direct recipients of those stolen funds."

Raging Ranter said...

The Conservatives weren't found "guilty" in federal court of anything. Elections Canada ruled that the advertising violated elections spending legislation, and refused to refund them the percentage of their election spending that they felt they were entitled to. So the Conservative Party is in court appealing the Elections Canada ruling, because a million dollars is at stake. There was never any trial that resulted in charges.

If you seriously think this is anywhere close to Adscam in scale or scope, then you are deluded beyond any point of reason. Your hard-on for any and all things Conservative has lead you to believe things that simply aren't so. It has also given you (and I've already mentioned this) some kind of God complex, where you see events and occurrences as being directly the result of your own actions.

This comment was paid for by the Conservative Party of Canada, via money laundered through it's affiliate, the Blogging Tories. The name Raging Ranter is a registered trademark belonging to the Conservative Party of Canada. Any and all opinions expressed by Raging Ranter have been thoroughly vetted and approved by Conservative Party Headquarters.

Raging Ranter said...

Happy Fella, the funds went to pay for campaign expenses in Quebec. That was how the Liberal Party's Quebec wing covered its election campaigns. That much was clear from Gomery. We'll never know the true scope of the scam though, because the Gomery Inquiry was never allowed to probe the inner workings of the Liberal Party. Gomery had to cut testimony of witnesses off on a number of occasions, warning them that any testimony had to be directly related to the Sponsorship Program.

Then again, as a paid agent of the Conservatives, I would say that.

Eugene, do I have to include that disclaimer with every comment? Or is just once per thread enough?

Walks With Coffee said...

Ragin ranter, you are so ignorant.

Elections Canada is a duly authorized body of the government of Canada. They have the power to find the CPoC guilty and fine them - and they did. And that fact is why the CPoC is in federal court appealing the guilty verdict.

As for Conservative Adscam (advertising fraud)... your team is engaging in advertising scams strictly for its sole partisan political benefit.

In contrast, the Liberal government engaged in advertising to save Canada from a separatist referendum.

So no, I don't equate the two scandals.

As for the scandal topic of this thread, Harper is linked to Mulroney and Schrieber-Mulroney to the current cabinet. The billion dollar spectrum allocation to a Mulroney company is now public knowledge... and the timing damning.

That's your team, now!

Cheers,

Walks

Walks With Coffee said...

Ragin rager asks: "Then again, as a paid agent of the Conservatives, I would say that.Eugene, do I have to include that disclaimer with every comment? Or is just once per thread enough?"

Eugene Parks responds: "Due notice once per article/thread is appropriate."

You should also know that being paid via the governemnt of Canada (versus being paid via the CPoC) for partisan activites is a crime. i.e You cannot use government equipment or funds to talk partisan politics unless you are directly identified as "political" - even then you cannot use government equipment and funds... you must separate yourself from government resources. For example, partisan blogging from the PMO or privy council offices for partisan purposes is a crime. You have to go home and not be paid from the government purse in order to perform partisan-blogging.

Go on now "walks with cofee", go forth and believe adscam was unimportant, that funds were used by the liberal party is a "lie" and that the liberals are on the cusp of regaining power, with Dion on the verge of showing his heretofore unknown but newfound leadership abilities. Enjoy your cozy slumber and may your dreams be filled with conservative scandals, may your newfound messiah (and wanted criminal) KH Schrieber, bring you all the answers you desire,

may your global socialist theories founded on politicized science come to fruition, and the oceans actually rise, and the Canadian winters actually warm.
