Wife of Peacekeeper Skeptical of Israeli Story

From Canada.com:

The wife of a Canadian peacekeeper who’s missing and presumed dead in Lebanon demanded to know Thursday why several Israeli missiles struck the UN site where her husband was stationed as an observer.

A grieving Cynthia Hess-von Kruedener told a news conference at CFB Kingston that she doesn’t believe the strike Tuesday that’s believed to have claimed the life of her husband, Paeta, was an accident.

“They’re clearly marked as UN observers, so why were (the Israelis) firing on that base?” she wondered.

“If those are precision-guided missiles, then it is intentional with three bombs.”

Questions that all Canadians should be asking, esp. Stephen Harper.

the soldier himself said it was not deliberate . . . Hisbullah was using the UN sites for attacks,

READ HIS LAST LINE
email (Major Paeta Hess-von Kruedener of the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry, was based at the UN's Khiyam base. Here is an edited extract of an email from July 18):

It appears that the lion's share of fighting between the IDF and Hizbullah has taken place in our area ...We have ... had numerous occasions where our position has come under direct or indirect fire from artillery and aerial bombing. The closest artillery has landed within two metres of our position and the closest 1000lb aerial bomb landed 100 metres from our base. This has not been deliberate targeting, but has rather been due to tactical necessity.

The soldier could not have written that the attack that in fact killed him was not deliberate, as he would have to be writing from beyond the grabe. You're being an idiot, the most he could be saying in this email is that some of the shells that previously fell around the post were fired from "tactical necessity", whatever that means (L. MacKenzie is not the be all and end all of Canuck military knowledge, and I don't know that I accept his interpretation).

Of course you don't accept Lou's interpretation, because it doesn't blame Israel, Bush or Harper. And even more offensive to Liberals, it's the truth!

Why were they there in the first place? Keeping what peace? It's proposterous and totally without proof that it was intentional, so unless you have some proof, I suggest you stick to some facts.
