Ron Cannan Does His Bit

The Tory MP with their latest talking point:

For him, prorogation is an opportunity for the Conservative government to concentrate on the economy by implementing the next phase of its economic stimulus program and prepare a new budget.

If parliament was in session then the opposition parties could vote non-confidence and force an election before those tasks are complete.

“That’s what we don’t want,” said Cannan.

The new budget was planned for early March in any event, so it looks like Cannan was worried that Iggy and co. might have brought down the gov. between January and March.

I don't know if it was intended or not, but his name is Ron Cannan. He's my MP unfortunately.

I say unfortunately because he's lied about his stance on same-sex marriage, the Kelowna Accord, among other things.

Oopsie! Fixed!

Is he actually saying that a reason prorogation is good is because it avoids a confidence vote?

And they still try to say this prorogation is democratic?

This surprises you?

I'm just surprised Harper hasn't called them all back to Ottawa and locked them in a shed behind 24 Sussex. Each one is stupider than the last.

I almost don't want to comment on what these backbenchers say

MP Blaine Calkins I caught claiming that the Senate was 'often' defeating gov bills.
