The Price Of Free Speechiness?

The Richard Warman Vs. Free Dominion defamation case has been winding down for awhile now.  The Fourniers lost.  Had their asses handed to them, in fact.  In addition to $43,000 in damages, we find today that  they've been hit with $85,000 in costs:

Meanwhile their latest funder stalled out after raising  $23.67.  Connie's been talking about selling her pancreas. Mark was trying to sell his liver, but it was deemed hazardous materials.

I thought the minions paid all the dirty conservative legal bills.

And now they've closed shop, only allowing members in.

I looked at the sign-up.

You agree not to post any abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening, sexually-orientated or any other material that may violate any laws be it of your country, the country where “Free Dominion” is hosted or International Law.

If they'd actually ever meant that, they'd never have had their asses hauled into court.

Interesting that no one on the right wing blogosphere seems to have actually noticed FD's demise. In their obsession over Richard Warman and flirtation with people like Marc Lemire and Paul Fromm they long ago ceased to have much relevance or get much of a following from the "right" in general. For years it seems FD was a forum of ever decreasing circles and less and less participation by anyone outside of a hard core of wackos.

The thing that I don't understand is why they've put the whole thing behind a registration wall. Won't this interfere with their ability to raise money to pay for this?

Shockingly, these defenders of free speech have disabled not just comments, but up and down votes.
