From a Lifesite article entitled, appropriately enough, "Media Generated “Teletubby” Scandal Used to Make Pro-Family Polish Government Look Ridiculous":
Poles however have reacted differently to the [Tinky Winky is Gay] “scandal” than the frantic media. Local press reports indicate the sale of Tinky Winky dolls is drastically down, and one toy store in Lublin, which normally sells 20 Tinky Winkys per week, has not sold one since the media “outed” the Teletubby.
Is this a scenario where a series of wrongs added up to a right? One can only wonder why it took an "outing" for the Polish to realize that Teletubbies suck desperately. It has been written (maybe by me) that racism is stupid because, if you really think about it, you can usually find a better reason to hate somebody. In this case, there are many, many, many good reasons to hate the Teletubbies. But perhaps if the Poles hate them because one of their number carries a handbag, then that's good enough.
