Tim Hortons Sells Out!

The Prime Minister makes them a Canadian icon, and it goes straight to their head:

Tim Hortons will be kicking up their prices at outlets in Ontario, Manitoba and Atlantic Canada next week, charging about five cents more for coffees and bagels.

I hear that now, when their coffee gets cold, they're gonna sell it as some kind of Italian stuff and charge a buck extra instead of pouring it down the sink like decent folk.

And in Alberta, where they're swimming in oil money, Tims cuts 'em a break! Don't tell me Harper didn't have a hand in this. This is like equalization payments in reverse!

I'm not usually one to defend corporations but there is much more to this story than you realize. They're raising some prices because the market prices for some of their items has gone up, therefore raising the costs on the franchise owners. Raw coffee prices, especially, is based on market fluctuations. Unfortunately for Tim Hortons, coffee prices are increasing without any sign of levelling off, probably due in part to the prices dropping a few years ago. The same can be said about milk costs and grain costs. This isn't about increasing the bottom line, it's about keeping it the same.

When a Liberal makes a ridiculous statement, it's hard to tell whether they're being purposely funny or just being a blindly hateful Liberal.

Harper made them an icon? WTF have you been smoking? I'll bet you think he 'did it' because they're an American company now.

Well, the family guy that goes to Tim's isn't going to like it.

So, the cost of coffee, bagels, etc. hasn't risen in Quebec and Alberta? Strange - suppliers are suppliers.
