...on behalf of Dalton McGuinty and his government, for turning what has the potential to become a populist anti-HST wave into an embarrassing monkey show:
In what was clearly an orchestrated protest by the Tories, the session began with Mr. Murdoch rising in his seat and saying, “Where I come from, [Premier] Dalton McGuinty is a liar.”
[Tory MPP] Bill Murdoch was asked three times to withdraw the remark and refused. When he was asked to leave, his caucus colleagues formed a human wall around him, leaving him well out of reach of the Sargeant At Arms.

After a 15-minute recess, Mr. [Randy] Hillier jumped into the fray and got ejected for the duration of the session for refusing to stop banging the lid on his desk.
Embracing the inner Teabagger. Yeah. That'll win you votes in Ontario. And, according to this, Randy Hillier is still lurking around Queen's Park after having been ordered to leave. Next thing he'll whip out the boots and red suspenders and be dumping dead deer on the grand stairway.

I'm no HST fan but I'm not at all impressed by this. Definitely encroaching into teabagging territory.
Yet when CITY-TV cornered Hudak and asked him if he'd repeal the HST if the PC's were elected ...he dodged the question.
Hudak Won't Repeal HST
Well of course he won't repeal it. This is all a show.
Hudak is talking through his ass. He knows damn well the HST is the right thing to do, and his little populist show is going nowhere. Meanwhile, Vanderzalm in BC is trying to use the HST to stage some sort of half-assed come-back. Another fail. Both have the luxury of knowing they won't have to live up to any promises. Even if Hudak is premier 3 years from now, nobody in their right mind would reverse the HST once implemented.
Hillier: The two-headed dog in the Tory freak show.
The HST is actually offical PC policy. It was the cornerpiece of their submissions during the pre-budget consultations last spring. They used to berate the Libs in question period for NOT going the HST route.
I think the last time the Ontario conservative didn't alternate between acting like a bunch of overtired 8-year-olds who've just guzzled a two-litre bottle of Jolt cola and acting like the French aristocracy circa 1770 was back in the early part of the Bill Davis years.
