A Tory Backbencher's "Work" Is Never Done

SAINT JOHN - Business owner Dick Daigle, Mayor Ivan Court and Saint John MP Rodney Weston are challenging residents to vote early and often to ensure the city secures a spot on the new Monopoly Canada board game.

[...]

"I want to encourage everyone to vote and vote often. You don't hear politicians saying that every day," [Weston] joked.

Meanwhile, The Libs are discussing Veteran's issues today, health tomorrow.

I don't get this contest. Are they going to put a whole city on the board, or just a street from it? Either way, I don't know how that dump Saint John figures into it, except I suppose, as a candidate for the cheapest property.

I think they are actually naming all the streets solely from the specific chosen city on the Canuck version, the same as how all the original Monopoly property names came from Atlantic City NJ. Outside of Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver, I can't think of any higher-end properties that will be that well known. Where do the uber-rich live in St John NB?

Whoever is ultimately selected, I wonder what they will do with the railroads, as we do not have too many cities with 4 different carriers to choose from.

There's already been a Canadian version, which showcased a variety of streets from different Canadian cities. But maybe you're right. If so...good lord, we'd better start voting or we're going to get stuck with Chatham.

I don't know, but I bet it's real classy.

The uber rich don't live in St. John. Believe me. The only time I was there was in the early 70s with my family when it looked like all of downtown had burned down. But it hadn't. It was just like that.

It's Saint John. They're very particular about that.

I'm wondering if I can vote for the "Prorogation Railroad."
