The Rumours Were True: Cools Turfed From Tory Caucus

From the Vancouver Sun:

OTTAWA -- Senator Anne Cools, a former Liberal who crossed the floor to join the Conservatives during the 2004 election campaign, has been turfed from Tory caucus after denouncing Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Senate government leader Marjory LeBreton in the upper chamber.

Proud to say I was one of the 1st to pick up on this.

Nice to see that Harper's decision to muzzle his brethren has worked out so splendidly. Pretty soon the only supporter's he'll have left will be himself, his wife, and his mamma.

And, just for good measure, a federal Tory Candidate in trouble.

This is one of those issues where I'm having a hard time deciding whether I should care or not. Anne Cools has had a pretty undistinguished career as far as I can tell; her only claim to fame has been the fact that she seems to piss everyone off.

I guess I'll go partisan and fault the Connies for prising politics over substance, which, being talent-free, is all they ever do, anyway.

Of course you'll go partisan, ti-guy. Who are you trying to kid with your phony "I'm having a hard time deciding" comment?

So, an undistinguished Liberal senator who pisses people off get's booted from the Tory caucus - and you're finding fault with the Tories for doing that? Their only fault lay in accepting her in the first place.

Right. That was my point. Connies, being talent-free, can't actually recognise talent. C'mon...Rona Ambrose? Vic Toews? Gordon O'Connor? Stockwell Day? Junior MacKay? Diane "Cool Ray" Finley? Maurice "Pathological Liar" Vellacott?

..oh, God...I'm gonna HURL!...

Kind of makes monkeys out of the Tories who said things like this about the good Senator.

Everyone else knew she might not be a keeper.

Congratulations.

You broke this one.

There are some politicians who are just trouble, and it's hard to understand why any party would take them in. I'm thinking of people like Cools, Garth Turner and David Orchard. At least Garth had a seat to bring with him, but there was really no upside in the Conservatives accepting Cools or the Liberals Orchard.
