The strange courtship between AGW Deniers and Canada's Far Right continues, with
Tom Harris, leader of the
ICSC, seeking validation from the denizens of
FreeD. Not the way to enhance your organization's credibility, Tom, but at least this time your not asking them to
FREEP your own poll.

And every year the CO2 levels go up & up.
And every year it gets colder and colder.
Now that's a creepy correlation.
Look up. Look waaaay up.
The big yellow round thing.
Its the sun stupid.
I love how the illiterate FD'ers are slobbering all over him:
"I think you have a great voice their Tom, ever thought of being on the radio?"
...he's got a face for radio, that's for sure.

As is the strange courtship of warmists with those who feel marxist policies will save mankind. The solution to any climate issue shouldn't be mixed with any kind of wealth redistribution. I can't think of any thing that has damaged the environmental movement more.
It's dishonest to claim that something as fundamental to civilisation as wealth redistribution is "Marxist."
Fundamentally there is no such thing as progressive as an ideological genus. It is a euphemism for a corrupt ideology that can linked back to Carl himself.
You don't like my calling a spade a spade...ok...call it slavist.
Take money from the middle class and redistribute a token to the poor and give the rest to the worthy non-poor. This will ensure we get the environment cleaned up in a hurry. I'm sure the spent lead bullet casings that usually follow such ideologies won't get in the way of real action on the environment. All we need to do is take money from middle class families and name our dogs Kyoto to really make an impact.
I swear, rightwingers don't even speak English (or any language for that matter) anymore. They just open their mouths, wait for the torrent of words representing poorly-grasped concepts to stop, then close their mouths.

Sorry Dante you are about 30 years too early.
The above idea was first put forward by the neo-liberals in the early part of the 19th Century. These are the folks who took a look at what was happening to the economy and society living under the classical, laizzez-faire liberalism of Adam Smith and did not like what they saw.
Of course they were ignored by the classical liberal establishment until Marx came along. At that point they paniced at the thought of his ideas taking holds so they grasped neo-liberalism to keep it at bay.
Neo-liberals gladly welcomed the new found support, not just because it validated their school of thought. They welcomed it because they feared what Karl Marx represented as well.
I swear, rightwingers...
Centrist. You are so far gone you can't even recognize how far you are from mainstream thought.
...[Rest of menstruation induced tirade snipped]
Take a friggin midol for God sake. You are are particularly shrill today.
I am not. I'm in a really good mood today.
You are so far gone you can't even recognize how far you are from mainstream thought.
Well, thank God for that. Judging from the quality of public discourse, mainstream thought appears to be indistinguishable from neurosis, psychosis or mass hysteria.
If you were the least bit concerned about that, you'd avoid making ignorant and ahistorical assertions about Marxism.
Anyway, time to flog this book again.
The thing that strikes me is how devoid of science the skeptics have become recently. All we see now is the argument that correlation is causation (oh and magic thermos bottles of course).

There is always that little thing called observation.

Convenient of you to disregard it.
I haven't read much of FD recently. In the past, though, Harris started most of his threads in the section on Conservative issues instead of the one on global warming.

What do you think we're doing? We're observing the propaganda which you seem completely oblivious to.
Most of us will acknowledge compelling science. You however, are completely blind to the irrationality of the movement types who, along with denyiing AGW, support Intelligent Design, Young Earth theories, non-existent claims of WMD's, and perenial virgins with BSc's in Math and Computer Engineering (and diplomas in Accounting) who think they're more qualified than anyone else to understand climatology and environmental science.
What did you tell old KKKate when she posted that embarrassing article on the thermos bottle analogy for the greenhouse gas effect? Were you over there, filling up her comments section with sneering and derision?
Dante: That is the exact type of thing I was talking about. I give Anthony full credit for observations but be tends to jump to conclusions - i.e. correlation is causation. Once he strays from observations he regularly makes some pretty serious errors.
Regards,
John
