When you say something specific, they attack you:
Some economists and business leaders fear Michael Ignatieff is trying to revive employment insurance reforms that proved disastrous to the economy and Liberal political fortunes 38 years ago.
When you mumble vague nothings so as to avoid getting attacked on specifics
But during a question-and-answer session with what appeared to be a receptive business group, Hudak didn’t map out his vision for the province under a Tory government.
And when asked directly what he would do on a number of issues if he came to power, he wouldn’t answer
...they attack you anyway.
I don't know which alternative is worse. I suppose I am more inclined to give the MSM as little to chew over/criticize as possible--just wee trial balloons to keep them awake in the run up to an election call. And then try to go past, over, and around them to get the platform out when the time comes.
Some people say I am overly cynical...

Would these be the same economists that said EI should be reformed, etc. to stimulate the economy a few months back?
I take everything politicians have to say when they're not in power with a grain of salt. And I'm not paying attention to what any politician or "journalist" or most economists have to say about the economy. None of them know what they're talking about and are just guessing and/or hoping for the best.
I read that PET tried to do something like this,..... next election..... he lost his majority because of it.
